Well being how it is 1:45 am where I am at you might not get any responces til tomorrow. But... many people have posted about this very topic and I can at least give you some insight on what I believe you will be hearing. The first question is how many calories are you getting in a day? I see you haven"t posted your weight so nobody can tell you what they think you should be getting but I think between 1,200 and about 1,800 calories is what most people here are doing. It has been researched going below 1,200 is not healthy. More and likely people who are WAY more of an expert than myself will ask you to post an average menu you are eating in a day. How about proteins and fiber are you getting enough. I believe fiber at least helps keep people feeling fuller longer. Not 100% sure about protein but I think that helps keep hunger pains away. What about your water intake. Many people who drink alot of water feel they are not as hungry as those who don't.
Also are you physically active? that would affect your feeling of hunger too. So while you are waiting for much better responce from other you might want to post a bit more info. Hopefully one of those experts are lurking around.

I dont really know what my calorie intake is. I figured if I just simply started eating smaller meals, Id be eating less calories, and then loosing weight.

Ive been trying to eat more fruits and veggies and also using CIB for meals. I believe the CIB has protiens in it?

I dont drink a lot of water. I need to try to make a habit of keeping some water nearby, I will probably drink it if its handy.

im not a very active person. i just dont have the energy.

You might want to think about keeping track of how many calories you take in a day. There is a forum here that is just about calorie counting how to do it and all that jazz. I don't want to puch any kinda of diet be it calorie counting weight watcher adkins etc cuz different thing work for different people. But you need to make sure you are taking in enough calories. Like I said I am not as "experty" as many others here but I can tell you metabilism tends to slow down if your body doesn't feel its getting enough fuel. Therefor hendering your progress in the long run.
I also can tell you from experience drinking water really does help. And as a diet coke-aholic i really hate that water works so well. Just means I have to drink more of it darn it.

I am a cherry coke-a-holic. I have tried to cut down to less than a can a day, or trying to avoid pop at least every other day, anything to cut back.. sometimes tho i just simply need the caffiene! before I'd easily drink 4 or 5 cans a day!

Hello, I thought I would jump in here. I count calories and if you eat smaller meals you will get hungry which is why you should eat several meals. You can eat six small meals and still eat fewer calories. Even if you aren't doing any exercise you have to consume enough calories or you body will go into starvation mode and all your eating less will be for nothing. That is when you can get discouraged and quit. But know the people on this site are very very supportive and full of information to help you reach your goals

It's really about finding what is going to work for you and something you can do for life. Listening to your body is important as well. It will tell you how little it can handle.

Hello, Fighting.... Hmm, if you are inappropriately hungry - like soon after you eat - you might be developing metabolic problems. The sugar (and high fructose corn syrup) content of your cherry cokes might be contributing. When you drink one, your sugar levels skyrocket, causing a large insulin response to take care of the extra sugar. Then, when the sugar levels drop all that insulin screams for more sugar making you hungry.

Eating smaller meals will of course help you lose weight, but the quality of what you eat will help as well. Stick with whole foods, lean proteins and whole grain starches. Avoid fruit juices (there is good fiber in the fruit, so eat fruit instead) empty calories like sodas and white things such as white potatoes, white rice, white sugar (brown too!) white flour.

And move! Just 30 minutes of walking a day can make a HUGE difference in your health. If you have not been exercising at all, start small. Fifteen minutes a day for a week, then increase to 20, then 25...its a lot easier than it sounds. Once you get used to it, you will miss it if you don't get it in!

I am sure others will have advice for you too. Good luck!

When I first started working on my weight I had this strange idea that I should let the hunger punish me, or something. That's not the way to go, because eventually instinct kicks in and that's when you turn into the Tasmanian Devil!

Though if I've got a little while to go until I can eat again, I find a few sips of seltzer really helps. The key is to keep nutrient-dense little snacks within easy reach, like hard-boiled eggs, Babybel minis, or almonds. When you feel the need to graze, listen to your body and choose something good

grazing and extra meals is not always feasable either tho.. I do work, and Im only given one lunch break! not 2 or 3! Im not allowed to keep food with me while I work either so its not like I can just keep snacks handy.

you said no white potatoes.. what about red or the golden ones? Are they better for dieting? Or are all "potatoes" (except sweet potatoes) considered "white" potatoes? Potatoes are a weakness of mine, but they are filling.

I personally don't like eating a bunch of small meals. I never feel satisfied. I'm just not a big snacker. I like to eat 3 larger meals, with a snack or two if I need it.

I'm also less hungry following a diet that regulates my blood sugar, like a low carb diet. I don't even have to get super low to have the hunger go away. I try to stick below 100 carbs a day.

Those are also white potatoes. I used to be a potato-a-holic. If I went to Cracker Barrel, I would want all potato sides. I'm learning to like other vegetables more, and eat them much less. It's taken me a long time of experimenting with what foods to eat to figure out what makes me feel satisfied. If I can get through the psychological part of it, I think I'd be doing all right.
