  • Good morning
You ladies are the best. Even in my yucky space ya'll make me smile. I'm still going to eat healthy as possible but I've had to change my hubby's diet back to more of the comfort foods he likes. He hasn't adjusted well to the healthier changes. I'll still try to cook as healthy as I can for him.

Breakfast this morning was an egg sandwich on whole wheat.

    Enjoy The Great Outdoors
Stop being lazy. Instead of paying someone else to do your dirty work, get busy. Shovel snow. Rake leaves. Cut the grass. Cleaning up the yard is a great way to get active. Not only are you getting the job done, you're also burning calories at the same time. Believe it or not, shoveling snow by hand can burn up to 408 calories an hour. By raking leaves for an hour, you stand to burn 240 calories. You'll also knock off 408 calories by simply mowing the lawn for an hour. Did we mention you'll also save money?

Ellen..I'm so sorry that machine is giving you fits. Praying that you adjust and are soon sleeping like a baby.

Solly...the herbs in the window sound neat. If I had a window I would do that for sure. When I was weeding yesterday I looked to see if any of last years herbs were coming back and so far just the chocolate mint. You can't kill that stuff..LOL

Mercee... I am with you. The extra sunshine really seems to lift the winter mask off of things. Hope you are feeling better today.

Toni...Woo hoo on getting into a new size. That is always a treat.

I'm running behind this morning. Gotta get moving.

    God bless,
    Crystle
  • Howdy ho...... Its gloomy out and sprinkling rain. I'm wrapped in my blanket on the chair with my dog in my lap. I got spoiled with the sunny nice days we just had. I want more. Can't believe time changes this week end. I just got adjusted to the last time change. LOL. Made a pot of turkey noodle soup yesterday. It was so good and healthy to with whole wheat noodles. We'll have leftovers tonight.

Ellen- I can't imagine what a time you're having with that mask. Hopefully you'll get used to it soon. Thats got to be miserable.

Solly- Woo Hoo for Friday. Have a great week end.

Mercee- I grow my tomatoes in a pot on the porch every year. Can't wait for a nice home grown tomato.

Crystle- My Steve isn't in to eating healthy except when its something he really likes. Its so hard to cook two things for meals instead of one. And of course he's always picking out stuff at the market I can't have.

Guess I'd better get busy. Have a great day.
  • Boy it echo's in here its so quiet today...... Where are you all?
  • Good morning
Morning came too fast with the time change. But it is a good morning. The sun is shining and it so warm already, about 73. We had a great day yesterday. We practiced shooting and I'm actually getting better. We also did some running around. The grocery had asparagus and cabbage on sale. I'm gonna make some corned beef and cabbage tonight. My boys have never had it. I've only had it a few times but it is really tasty.

They had baby ducks, chickens and rabbits at the feed store yesterday. We are seriously thinking of raising rabbits again. I'm not supposed to get more baby chicks but I bet I do..LOL I just love them so much.

I hope ya'll are having a nice weekend.

    ((Everybody))

    God bless,
    Crystle
  • Hello all. Didn't get our clocks set up but we will. I just made breakfast. I only had some rye bread toast. Couldn't think of what to make for me. Its miserable outside today. Just a slow drizzle coming down.

Crystle- I make my corned beef in the crockpot. I took one out of the freezer to start thawing out for Wed. Have to pick up some cabbage when I go grocery shopping this week. Its a sure sign of spring when those baby chicks come out. Good going with the shooting....

Hope everyone is having a good week end.
  • Crystle: I want some baby bunnies.

Hi everyone! don't faint or anything!

So, yesterday I was at Old Navy and trying on some pants and I have decided I'm shaped like a fig. I hate it. I bought myself a size 18 pair of pants because I'm sick and tired of wearing sweats all the time. The 16's were jsut a little too snug, so I got myself a pair of fat pants.

and, you won't believe the luck (or lack thereof) I had in car shopping Saturday. Went to look at two minivans, one in Adams and one in Edwards. If you googlemap it, start at Cape vincent and see how far we went. So, first to Adams to see a dark blue voyager. From a distance, it looks nice, but the we look at the house and the guy and think...oh....do we want to give this guy 2grand? I'll leave it to your imagination. So, we get in the car and it smells like perfume and you can tell, up close, that the car had a TON of body work. Inside was filled with stains and dirty, grimey hand prints and my husband put his hand in the side pockets and said that some of the car is uncleanable. So, off to Edwards we go. I called ahead to the Edwards sellers and they said, "Well, someone else is on their way to look at it, too, just so you know..." I've heard that story before. An hour and a half later, we are just about to turn in the driveway of the seller's house to look at their red chevy venture and she calls me, "I hope you haven't gotten too close...we JUST sold the van." We tooted as we drove by. So, we pull out on the main road and see a white cargo van with a red chevy venture in front of it on the side of the road. We passed it and they came in behind us and it looked like it was a reeeeealy nice van. We are sure it was the one we were headed to buy for 2grand. And there it is in our rear view mirror like it was going neenerneenerneeeeenerrrrrr.... SO frustrating...if we had gone to Edwards first, I'd be in my new-to-me van right now.

...and so I ask you... is God pointing and laughing at me...again...or is he holding out for something better....

For breakfast this morning, I had NSA orange juice (seriously, why do they even add sugar or HFCS to orange juice?), Kashi go lean and half a banana. Lunch will be a Lean Cuisine meal. I find they're low in calories and an easy way to add a little variety to my food plans. Dinner...will be determined when I WALK IN THE RAIN to the store to see what they have in the meat counter that looks good.

    Okay...gotta run...TTFN!
  • Good morning ladies.

I'm frustrated with the guys here so I decided to come see what you all where up too. We are supposed to be working on 2 proposals but no one else is interested so why should I be.

We went to Lexington this weekend to watch my great niece play basketball. I wasn't too keen on the idea but my DD has promised and I got to spend the whole day with my grandson. Thenw e went out to eat with them. Yesterday was spent at church, cleaning and watch basketball and the grocery. So I didn't have much free time to get here.

I got up this morning at 5:30 and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Actually 20, b/c it took me 10 minutes to figure out what I was doing. I plan to go to the gym after work and do weights for 30 minutes and walk 30 minutes more on the treadmill tonight. Hope I can follow through.

Mercee, I love the time change too. At least now we can do soemthing after work in daylight. I hear the tomato pots that you hang upside down are supposed to be great.

Toni, it rained here all day yesterday too. Gloomy today also. I am sure ready for Spring. I wanted to get a corned beef yesterday and Dh said no. I love Reuben sandwiches.

Cryste, sorry your Dh won't eat healthy along with you. It sure makes it a lot easier for you. Maybe you can trick him a little.

Tech, bout time you posted. Sorry about your van. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

Better try to go light a fire under these men before I pop a gasket.

    Have a great day
  • Hi ladies:

A quick run through. I had to get a new computer at work today and we just got it up up and running. Had a great weekend though busy. I will get here tomorrow and workout tonight. Have a great day all.
  • Spring is in the air
Good afternoon. Jess and I got a few things planted this morning. No veggies or anything just some plants a friend shared with us. I did get the horseradish planted. Its is my first time trying it. We put it in a pot. That way I can be sure what it looks like and once I know I can plant it in the ground. They are calling for rain tomorrow. I really hope it skirts us because it is time to till.

I like today's email tip because we do this almost every year. There is a local blueberry farm not too far away.

    Email Tip:
    U Pick Em
You've probably seen the signs and driven by the fruit and vegetable farms without a second thought. But there's a lot to be said for "u pick em" farms. Here's your opportunity to get fresh berries and vegetables right from the source. Picking produce is great exercise and it's also a fun family activity that'll get the kids more interested in fresh foods. Visit the internet and find the nearest u pick em farm in your area.

Tech...I am so sorry you missed out on the van. Just think, God may have been saving you from some unseen mechanical flaw. I hope the rain holds off so you are able to walk to the store without getting drenched.

Toni.... I was gonna try the crock pot and forgot so now I have to just fix it. I feel asleep really early last night so it helped getting up at a decent hour this morning but I was still a bit thrown off.

Solly..errr to the people who won't get busy with the proposals. You would think in this day and age they would do everything possible to get the best bid in and in a professional manner.

Ellen...you were quiet this weekend. Does that mean things are going GREAT?

Mercee...are you feeling better than last week? Did you have a nice weekend?

((Everybody)) Time to finish making the salsa.

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • Hello my buster friends! I have been MIA again...the weekend was chaos- but then what else can you expect? It seems to be the norm around here.

I went on Friday and got a new mask to use with my machine. It is more comfortable, and I slept MUCH better Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. So, I called today to arrange to go in, get my card read (their software was down on Friday...and the mask I have is a loaner so I need to exchange it) well, their software is STILL down. I mean, come on! This is a major part of their business, dealing with respiratory patients and cpap machines, and their software is down for four days and no one will call the respiratory therapists and tell them when it will be fixed? I HATE my insurance company! I have to use this company as they will not deal with anyone else. What a crock!

Tonight is our small group meeting from church. I made a large pot of chili for it and just ran it over to the couple's house who hosts the group. That way, she can have it warm and ready to go instead of my bringing it hot, or cold and everyone having to wait. They live close, so it was not a problem.

I went to water aerobics this morning. It felt good to get in the pool. Its such a great workout! It was supposed to be raining today, but instead its sunny and brisk. I hope the wind dies down and the sunshine stays and the temps climb a bit. I am really ready for spring!

I need to go read a few chapters in our study book for our group tonight.

  • Good morning
I'm sitting here enjoying my cup of coffee this morning and who came to my mind but you guys. ((Everybody)) I hope ya'll are having a good day so far. Yesterday was an excellent eating day except for the cotton candy.

I've never heard of today's tip before.

    Email Tip:
Sweat Away A Cold: Fact or Fiction
To work out or not to work out - that's the question. Many people don't know the facts when it comes to exercising while ill. One expert maintains there is some truth to the notion that working out when sick will make you feel better. However, he recommends activities that increase circulation. But avoid high intensity exercises that make you gasp. Many enthusiasts follow these guidelines. If the cold is in your head - sneezing, runny nose, headache, etc. - a low-intensity workout will benefit you. But if the ailment is accompanied by a chest cough, upset stomach or fever, take it easy until you're feeling better.

    Be back later.

    God bless,
    Crystle
  • Morning Ladies:

Just wanted to drop in quickly. I am still catching up at work. I had a nice evening I fell asleep early and didn't wake up until this morning. I missed my workout. I have to workout when I get home. Tuesday is usually my day off. Oh well. I hope we all have good weigh-ins tomorrow. Have a great day everyone.
  • Good morning ladies,

I have a minue while I am waiting on the guys to work on this proposal. We get started, then they get a phone call, etc. ERRR!

I got 30 minutes on the last night but did not get to go to the gym as we had to take Rudy to the vet. He has had a rash on his belly for a m onth and I have been treating it, but it won't go away. So 2 hours up there and then dinner, didn't leave me much time. I had so wanted to get up this morning and do 30 minutes, but I was exhausted. I guess the time change finally caught up with me. I should be able to do 30 minutes tonight and possibly take a walk with the dog too. It is supposed to warm up some today.

Ellen, I am so glad the other mask worked better for you. My SIL did the sleep study last night. I have not heard the results yet. I just made a big pot of chili for my DH's chili cook off and I won Best All Around.

Crystle, Horseradish?? That's interesting. Guess we have to get it from somewhere. I just saw an add for growing your own blueberries in a pot. I would love that. They are good frozen for a nice treat. I have heard of today's tip. I think most importantly, listen to your body.

Mercee, Glad to see you are back in the swing of things. Don't you just love a new computer, plus learning all the things that are different on the new one. Good luck.

Toni, where are you? Hope you are enjoying some sunshine today. Ready for the BL tonight?

Guess I better go light a fire under these guys. They think I am such a nag, but they leve me no choice. Have a great day.
  • Good morning
We had a great day yesterday. When we did our exercises I was actually able to kinda do a real push up for the first time in years, probably first ever. I also got to show the boys how to jump rope. That was the best part. I'm all girl...LOL Jumping rope came back pretty easy. Don't get me wrong I can't do it long and the heart rate was through the roof. But I LOVED it. Can't wait to do it again. I also held the hand pads for my hubby. Not as fun as punching for sure. He hits hard and he said he was doing it easy.

No weight loss today but that is okay. Eating hasn't been horrible but it hasn't been great either. Gonna change my personal weigh day to Monday. I think it helps me have more control over the weekend.

    Email Tip:

30 Minutes A Day Keeps Fat Away
In the time that it takes to watch a re-run of Friends, you could have burned a significant amount of calories. There's no need to go to the gym simply try any of the following activities when you have a spare half hour. An individual who weighs 150 pounds will burn 272 calories in 30 minutes. Thirty minutes of gardening burns 136 calories while jogging burns 238 calories.

Well, back to my coffee. ((Everybody)) I'll check in later.

    God bless,
    Crystle
