Angry Welcome

Hello everyone. I have a very busy schedule so I seem to be MIA alot of times. But I do get to read as often as possible. I am happy to see all these new personalities here. That is great.

I hope all of you are doing wonderful. I have to say I had a .5 lb loss this morning. I am truly excited about this. I am now only 6 lbs away from my mini-goal. I would like to see 175 by Christmas. I wonder if that is too far fetched. I guess I could make a valid effort and see...right?

Nellie welcome to the thread. Since coming to this website I have probably lost the most weight I have ever in my dieting time. So I hope that you find what will pull you in the right direction to your goal.

Aimee how are you doing? I know it can be tough starting out but give it your best effort. It does work.

How is everyone else doing? I know this thread is not too active but it is a great place to come to when we need a kick in right direction.

Okay I must go...homework awaits my attention. Talk again.

Thanks for the welcome!
I have to admit that I did not use slimfast over the weekend because I took a quick get away trip and I decided that I needed a few days of fun.
I am ready to get started again tomorrow and get with it. I will let you all know how I am doing. I am looking forward to using this site often.
Good luck everyone!

Hello!

I've been offline for a little while. Kina, how are things going for ya? I asked on the exercise forum and thought maybe I should ask here, instead.

Staying on top of your homework?

Nellie, I hope things are going well for you. Sometimes it helps to take a day or two off. I, personally can't do that, EVER!! If I quit at all, I might as well hang it up!

Would type more, but no time now!

Hello,
I kind of noticed that this thread does not get much action. I am feeling pretty good today. I put on a pair of size 14's and I was in hog heaven. Later I was at my Mom's and she said she had some jeans for me but I was a little concerned because they were size 12's. Well, my Mom told me to try a pair on because the 14's were really baggy in the behind. I was rather skeptical but I did it anyway and I got the shock of my life because they actually fit. They are a bit snug in the waist but I could button them up and I have been wearing them all day. I have not been in a 14 or a 12 in six years. It really felt good and I am determined to keep on going.
I haven't weighed myself for a few days but I am apparently losing and it feels great.
So to all of you out there who are feeling discouraged just remember how great it feels to lose even if it only a pound or two.
Keep it up!
Nellie

Isn't that just the best feeling in the world Nellie? I had the same sensation the other day. I put on a pair of pants that had already fit somewhat loose but this time OMG I had to get a safety pin to keep them on my hips. Oooow did I say hips? OMG I have hips. They are not that noticeable but they are coming back from the dead! LOL

Wow a size 14! Big congrats to you. I haven't worn a 14 since...geeze I don't even know when.

I know that is where I have been losing it mostly in my "dairy air" and my boobs. They say that is where we carry most of our excess weight.

I am doing good Cheryl. Still plugging away at the college books. I am already dieing for a break. But that will come sooner than I wish for it. I think the first break is in November for Thanksgiving. So I am really looking forward to that. I am still getting the exercise in. Not doing the Slim Fast just watching what I eat and trying to stay away from too much bread.

I better go it's late and I'm gettting tired. Talk again.
Oh! Sorry this thread has become a bit dry. We will have to make our best effort to keep it ALIVE!
Talk again another time.

Thanks for the encouragement! I have been feeling really good lately and everyday I just seem to keep getting smaller and it feels great. It seems with each pound lost I gain a bit more confidence.
Thanks for writing.
Keep going, you'll be glad you did.

That is great Nellie. Yes, everyday that goes by will improve your over all life. I know since I have dropped from 225 to what I am today roughly 195-196 it is a like a whole difference. It's like this...last Fall I helped this guy to look for a job and then just recently when the semester started he came into the office again and it was as if he only met me for the first time. He didn't remember me or nothing but he sure wanted to hold a conversation with me this time. I was like "Wow, I'm not invisible anymore but it is not the end of the road there is still a long ways to go." But I came home and told my DH that I was no longer invisible. Of course he wasn't crazy about it but I had no one else to tell. Besides it helps him to realize that he needs to appreciate me just a bit more every now and then.

So you are drinking the shakes from Slim Fast? What is the flavor that you drink? When I was drinking them I enjoyed drinking Orange Pineapple. I have a couple of 6 packs here and I have to keep myself from drinking them...DRs orders. But I love them.

I will talk to you again. I have to get lunch started for the kids. Keep it up but always remember it won't come off over night, tomorrow, next week, next month or next year. Take it day by day, pound by pound.

Default Hi!

I'm new here - hello all! I really love Slimfast but I'm having trouble with having it two meals a day. I love it for breakfast, but am starving if I have it again for lunch or dinner, so I'm thinking about just having it once per day.

Kina - if I may jump in, why does your doctor forbid you to drink Slimfast? Just curious!!

Thanks!!!

Welcome Jennifer~~~Once per day wouldn't be a bad way to get the routine going...whatever works for you is the best way to get it going. Actually that is what I did. In the beginning (I know I am repeating myself from way back when oldies...BUT.)I could only stand drinking one shake and then eating regularly the other meals. And to be very honest I wouldn't even eat sensibly yet I was able to lose weight. I would also NOT drink one shake on the weekends. And I wouldn't even exercise until just recently. I have to say I did lose weight just not as fast as others would until I started drinking two shakes and exercising was when the weight really started to come off. But because I introduced the change slowly was my success to not giving up so easily.

But my DR wanted me to drop Slim Fast for a while because I had a fainting spell not too long ago. He felt that possibly my body had its fill of the Slim Fast. That at this point my body was using up a Slim Fast as if it were a soda pop or a candy bar and then dropping my sugar levels quickly. Actually I think I was just not getting enough calories into my system with all that I was doing as far as exercising and life. I just wasn't balancing it evenly.

I have not had a shake in about 2 or 3 weeks and I miss them greatly. Okay I have to get dinner started talk again.

Hello - i was just browsing through - i am new to the board - i used to do slimfast too - the most i was ever able to pull off was 10 lbs. i recently went to a Dr. in our town and started her program and i have lost 45 pounds and just about 5 away from my personal goal! (my success story is posted on the success forum under "the only diet that has worked for me since my hysterectomy")

Slimfast had too many carbs for me. i now eat protein bars with low carbs. But i know slimfast works for some - it always would give a kick start but then i would get stuck after the 10 lbs.

Any success is success though - and i think everyone has to find what works for them and i am glad i finally did.

Good Luck to all

Hello,
I am still doing pretty good, and I feel great, I can not believe how much energy I have. I usually drink the Cappacinno ones for breakfast and eat lunch and for supper I will either eat a really light supper or have a variety of slimfast, I like to keep it interesting and so one night I might have a chocolate mocha or one of the other flavors.
I started out at 210 and I am down to 179, I have went from a size 16 to a 12. My goal is to get to 145.

I wasn't finished and I hit the enter button. I also need to make a revision. My actual goal is 135. That is what I weighed before my last pregnancy and I was pretty happy at that weight.
This website has so much information in it and it is really helpful. I just think it is great to be able to talk to people gong through the same thing I am and they understand just how hard it is. I am really sick of all my skinny friends telling to just eat less and exercise more. I know that is what it takes but that is easier said than done.
Well, I got to go and get my boy to bed.

Hi everyone! I hope all is well! I am here just checking in!

Hi Bama. Wow you have accomplished great heights...big thumbs up to you. Thanks for the info. Once I get the chance I will check that page. I hear it is very hard to lose weight after a operation of the kind. It's good to know at any age.

Hi Nellie! If you ever find yourself needing to backtrack and fix this or that on your post...if you look at your post you will see a button in the lower right corner that says "edit" if you click on it you go back to the typing box where you can make changes to your post.

But that is great that you remain focused! I have given my husband's diet a try...I guess it is something similar to what Bama is speaking of--the no carb diet. I have managed to go from 195 on Saturday to 192 as of this morning! I am so ready to see the 80s! But I have to say it is so hard to detour myself from the cookies and milk and all the other NO NOs. But I like what the scale is doing so I will continue to remind myself that as long as I follow the rules the scale will continue to go in the right direction.

I must run. Talk again.

Hi everybody,

I drink slim fast for breakfast everyday, and for lunch mon-fri. I have a fridge in my classroom, and it's the quickest thing to down while I grade papers! It keeps the hunger pains away for a few hours. My problem is my stress eating after work. With the kids at school (4th graders) and my own (5 and 2) at home, I want to eat all night! I'm going to try real hard now, because I know I can do it. I have 30 lbs. to lose and I'm going to do it. I don't hesitate to drink the shake, I look forward to it! I walk almost every night. I have to stop eating junk!

Thanks for listening,
Heidi

Heidi,

I love junk. Sigh.

Arkansas's State Fair is going on at the moment. I worked the USDA's booth in the fair three days last week. I ATE SO MUCH!!! The corn dogs, of course, are my favorite. Who am I kidding,EVERYTHING deep-fried is my favorite! I did manage to stay away from the deep-fried Twinkies and Snickers (I'd like to know what cruel person came up with THOSE).

As I said a few posts back, I have always been the type who cannot stray from my diet for even a day and get back on it successfully. This time I am trying, though. I gained FOUR pounds in the past five days. UGH!!!!!! I am seriously hoping that all of that is NOT weight that is going to "stick!"

Yesterday was the day for me to start my Slim-Fast again. I did very well while I was at work, but then I pigged out when I got home! I am going to do better tonight. I am determined.

Good luck to everyone else! Y'all are giving me hope!
