I think Lukas is going to be the winner in this gig!! I liked Dilana too, but her voice is the same the whole time, don't think I could listen to her low deep gravely voice for two hours at a concert. If you watch the reality episodes on the internet you can start seeing how she is starting to play a game with Lukas. She basically challenged him to take "Creep" this week since it was such a difficult song and if he couldn't sing it, he shouldn't be here. Well that back fired in her face, Lukas nailed the song and got the encore and he knew he rocked!! She was hoping he would have another bad performance like he did with "Celebrity Skin"
I like Storm alot but I don't think she would be a right fit for Super Nova, Ryan and Magni are good also. My picks for the final three are a toss up
1. Lukas
2. Dilana or Magni
3. Magni or Ryan

Can't quite figure out Ryan in the whole mix since the band seems to like his performances the last couple of shows.

Sorry I am so long, but just by 2 Cents!!

Telly 08-16-2006 08:30 AM

So what did everyone think of last nights show?

I thought Ryan and Lukas did AWESOME! I want to see Dilana change it up - she is getting old fast - though the guys seemed to like it. I also really liked Toby's - I thought he suited that song.

I think the bottom three are going to be:
Patrice
Zayra - get rid of her already!
and the third one is hard - if it was me personally i'd say Magni - wasn't thrilled with his performance

jules1216 08-16-2006 12:25 PM

I'd say Z & Patrice both need to go, I don't see either fronting this band, though I have to say that I liked Z's performance of her original song--didn't understand a word since it was sung in Spanish but her voice and the melody were beautiful.

I like Dilani's voice and presence and like that she has been consistantly good every week unlike all of the others who have had an off week here and there, I just don't know if the band will pick a female for the lead singer.

I can't say who will be the third in the bottom, Storm's performance wasn't her best but Ryan's last week was off and ended up in the bottom three but then Lukas was off the week before and his fanbase saved him. Magni to me gets better each week and I still like Toby though he has been off a time or two too.

mauvaisroux 08-16-2006 02:41 PM

I was glad to see both Jill and Josh go. I never liked Josh's style and he wanted to do things his way, which is fine if you are fronting a band with the same musical style as you but not for Supernova. Now I don't have to hear Jill overacting and screaming out lyrics. I liked her at first but that faded after a few performances. I found that Josh and Jill did the same things all the time.

Lukas, Ryan and Magni all did well last night. I thought Toby and Dilana were okay. I did not like Patrice's performance at all and Storm's rendition of I will Survive was awful! :p To me Patrice seems unable to convey the emotions of whatever song she is singing and her performance comes across as empty or hollow - not sure if that makes sense to anyone but me :dunno:

I have said from the start that Zayra would be better if she sung in her own language and last night she proved it. :cp: Her original song was beautiful, suited her voice and was full of emotion. I think she should record a Spanish album - I would buy it!

As for my change in opinions:

Magni - didn't like his first performance but he has grown on me as he shows more improvement each week. He may be a contender now.

Ryan: I thought he would get the boot by the 3rd week but he has gotten a lot better. He seems to be the dark horse at the moment. ;)

Toby - I liked him at first but for some reason I don't find him as appealing now. I'm finding him a bit arrogant and immature at times. :p

Dilana - she was a front runner from day one but now she has some contenders to deal with. She's also a bit manipulative.

Lukas - I liked his singing and stage presence from the start but I'm not so enamored of his attitude and immaturity level at times. But I think being in the bottom three humbled him and he is working hard to improve his vocals.

I think Patrice or Zayra needs to go. I would rather see Patrice gone as I am now finding her performances irritating to watch. Zayra at least has some entertainment factor and if she sticks around one more week that would be okay. I don't see her lasting much longer though.

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode. :)

TxTilly 08-16-2006 11:10 PM

Somebody Help Me!

:tantrum: i had to miss the elimination show tonight and am dying to know who did the encore, who were in the bottom 3 and who went home. I hope it was that Z girl because, although she's a good singer and good performer, she just isn't right for a group with Gilby and Tommy Lee!

Somebody please, please, please post on this soon! The show's should be over now on the West coast, so you won't be ruining anyone's surprise.:goodvibes

mauvaisroux 08-17-2006 10:15 AM

Toby, Zayra and Patrice were the bottom three this week.

Zayra went home last night. I was kind of sad to see her go as she was such a character  I really enjoyed her original song the other night.

Personally, I think Patrice should have gone home last night. I find her boring and her performances don't ring true to me. At least Zayra put all of herself into her performances and I found her performance last night much more entertaining than Patrice's. Her version of Celebrity Skin was snooze-worthy and turned a strong song into a pop song - blech! :p
(Not that I have anything against pop music, she just wrecked the song for me.)

Still, you couldn't ignore that Zayra has been in the bottom three every week. I hope she goes on to do something after the show though. If she did a Spanish album I would definitely buy it! :D

I dread the thought of sitting through another of Patrice's performances -

Toby was so-so but I was surprised he was in the bottom three instead of Storm. :?:

The competition is going to get a lot tougher now!

Check out rockband.com and go to the forums and they have a spoliers forum that has links to every episiode including the realty shows they don't show on TV and extras videos. You can watch last nights performance online. Ryan got the encore and Dilana got to sing with SN.

Stevi-rocks 08-17-2006 06:59 PM

I'm gonna miss Zayra!! I loved antisipating what outladish outfit she'd have on next! Patrice is a total SNORE..from her stage presence to her vocal range. ZzzzZZzzzz. And she's a snot. Jill was like watching your aerobics instructor do a bad kareoke performace, she grated on me almost as bad a Patrice does. Magni will be around for a long while. I really think its betwwen him a Dilana. Lukas has a cool style for an Emo band. He is so fem and emotional! His style is interesting not your run of the mill rock band vocals. So after hearing the original SN material I'm thinkin' he's a big NO. Toby and Ryan (mostly Toby) are trying too hard and it shows. They both lack that natural performers attitude. Anybody find it a lil rude Magni did "Creep" again right after Lukas and killed it? LMAO! When I grow up I want to sound like Dilana.;)

mauvaisroux 08-17-2006 08:48 PM

After listening to Supernova's music I'm afraid they won't be my cup of tea. Lukas has the look for Supernova but is more suited to a darker band - I wouldn't call him Emo though as he is not that wussy! I liked Lukas' version of Creep better but that's just MHO - I do think Magni did it well too.

Toby no longer says "Rock Star" to me. Ryan doesn't look like a rocker either but his performances are getting better.

I love your description of Jill!

Patrice makes me think of a soccer mom dressed as a rock chick for Halloween (not that there aren't any cool soccer moms out there, but I'm sure they are way cooler than she is. ;) ).

mauvaisroux 08-17-2006 10:23 PM

Any predictions on who is going home next? :D

Suzanne 3FC 08-18-2006 07:44 AM

The biggest shock of the night was when they told Patrice that she had potential for SuperNova and kept her for another week

Mauv, I agree with you, I wasn't impressed with their song either. Magni is my favorite now and I hope he doesn't win because I see better things for him :) I still love the show, though

Patrice

mauvaisroux 08-18-2006 09:40 AM

Your right Suzanne!

Jules - I agree! It should be Patrice barring any disastrous performances from anyone else.

jules1216 08-18-2006 09:56 AM

It's all about song selection and fanbase with the voting public from here on. Both Storm and Lukas had a bad week and still didn't get voted in bottom three. Is Dilani the only one to have never even had to stand up???

mauvaisroux 08-18-2006 12:23 PM

I think the fans forgave Storm and Lukas one lousy night as they have been consistent in their performances.

If they had been bad from day one I don't think their fan base would have saved them.

Then again, that doesn't explain Zayra, except for the fact that she was interesting and had that "what will she do next?" factor.

jules1216 08-18-2006 04:22 PM

That's the point I was trying to make--if the person has built up a fanbase they are more likely to be forgiven for a bad song choice/performance.

AS far as Z--I think it was the drama factor and the guys saving her if she made it to the bottom three was what kept her there longer. I just find it ironic that on the week that she did that beautiful original song that she was sent home over Patrice

Stevi-rocks 08-18-2006 04:51 PM

Yeah Patrice, but I'm not too sure on the guys reasoning for their selections. I thought for sure Queen attitude would be gone before the ever intrigueing Zayra...and nope. I mean they are both gonna go so why not satisfy the country's distain for Patrice and Car wreck interest in Zayra? I wasn't gonna say anything but the SN original was a real disappointment to me. I can't for the life of me understand why Jason Nustead is even in this type of band. He quit Metallica to do more "Original" material.....ok?

mom2cole 08-18-2006 05:58 PM

It is amazing the fan base that Lukas has. I visit another sight where each rocker has a section of a message board and Lukas's board has over 11,000 posts and the next person, I believe storm hasn't even hit 1,000. Lukas has never hit bottom three but I believe he earned it with celebrity skin. Lukas did a better Creep than Magni. But what puzzles me is that I have listened to Lukas's orginal music with both of the bands he has been with and it is awesome. He is holding back and when he lets go, he is going to trample over the other rockers.

Patrice is the Next to go in my opinion

mauvaisroux 08-19-2006 08:52 PM

I think Jason quit Metallica because of personal differences, there seems to be a lot of bad blood there but he doesn't talk about it much.

"musical/creative differences" is usually the polite way of saying we don't get along.

jules1216 08-19-2006 09:28 PM

Didn't Jason replace a much beloved member of Metallica that died in a tour bus accident--it be hard to live up to the memory of a person like that...

mauvaisroux 08-21-2006 09:41 AM

Yes he did, it was Cliff Burton. But Jason was in the band for several years and then all this crap started going on (according to the rumour mills and then they all supposedly came out of the bi closet, and then lost their minds with Napster) and he ended up leaving.

Stevi-rocks 08-21-2006 01:20 PM

WHAT? Meaning Bi-SEXUAL? I've never heard that one.

mauvaisroux 08-21-2006 08:22 PM

Yep -but that was eons ago! Not sure if it was true or not - you know how those things go  I didn't care - I still liked the band.

Remember when they all cut their hair and started wearing makeup - I think that is around the time that Jason left.

I asked my DH if he remembered that and he said yes so I'm not losing my mind. :D

Stevi-rocks 08-21-2006 11:50 PM

Well if a much needed hair cut and an up date of their rOck N RolL look prompted "bi-sexual" talk thats truly ignorant. The hair was cut around the Garage Inc. album in 1998 or so....Jason didn't annouce his departure until 2001.

mauvaisroux 08-22-2006 03:20 PM

 If all it took was hair and makeup to make someone gay then my dating history would have been very different. Most of the guys I dated were prettier than me and I hated it when they wanted to borrow my eyeliner! :D

You know how the tabloids and magazines work and how they make up stuff - dumb, dumb, dumb! And who cares if they were or weren't, the music was still good and it never affected my opinion of them. Supposedly the same thing was said or admitted by or whatever about the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and again, who cares - their music was good. :)

Anyhow, back to Supernova's search - was the mansion episode on last night? I didn't see it listed so I either missed it or just lost out.

I am hoping for some good rock songs in the selection tonight.

mauvaisroux 08-23-2006 10:52 AM

So what did everyone think of last night's show?

For me the strongest performance of the evening was Ryan's. He was amazing! Great original song, great stage presence and a lot of power. :)

Patrice - again I found her performance okay but it didn't knock me out, neither did her original song. I always find her lacking in passion and authenticity.

Storm- she did a nice job on "Cryin'" and put her own spin on it. I enjoyed her performance and she did a lot better than last week.

Magni - okay cover of Nirvana's Teen Spirit but for me it lacked strength and the angst (sp?) that that song needs.

Toby - he did a nice cover of Leila but it lacked the power that the song needed.

Dilana - business as usual with her. She always takes a song and makes it her own. :encore: That story about her mum was sad.

Lukas - I loved how he began the song - his vocals were great but somewhere in the middle he lost me. I don't like the way he turns his back on the audience (as Gilby pointed out). His performance would have been the best if it hadn't been for Ryan blowing everyone out of the water this week!

At the end of the show the bottom 3 were Toby, Storm and Patrice.

IMHO Patrice should be sent home this week.

Linds81 08-23-2006 11:15 AM

Last night's episode was good. Hmmm I think that Patrice is going home. I liked her original song though.

I by far think that Dilana is the best singer. She has an amazing voice, and I can definately see her fronting Supernova.

Lucas for some reason drives me nuts. He has a great voice, but I just see him as drama. He has a rockstar personality, but I think that's a downfall for him. He reminds me of Scott Whalen... formally from STP and now Velvet Revolver.

I'm excited to see who gets voted off tonight.

mauvaisroux 08-23-2006 04:10 PM

Linds - you're right, Lukas does have that broken down rockstar thing going on. He also reminds me of several punk band singers I have seen over the years.

Suzanne 3FC 08-23-2006 09:14 PM

What did Dilana say about Lukas? I saw the first part where she put down Ryan and it really shocked me. Then I had to walk Lola, so I missed what she said about Lukas and only saw what Dave said to her. Then I saw her try to backpedal her way out of it but it obviously didn't work. So what did I miss :)

I loved Ryan last night! And I loved Toby tonight. I also thought Supernova's song tonight was better than last weeks song, and Toby suited it well.

mauvaisroux 08-24-2006 09:38 AM

I agree Suzanne! I liked this weeks' Supernova song much better than last week's.

Dilana really blew it last night! First she told Ryan that he would have been nothing without the house band - it seemed she was trying to undermine his self-confidence IMHO.

Then during her interview with one of the reporters she said dissed Lukas though I can't remember what exactly she said. In the interview with one of the other reporters she was asked who she thought was really serious and who she thought was "along for the ride" and she answered "Ryan and Tobey".

So now she has ticked of 3 people in the house. :nono:

Either she is getting too cocky or she feels threatened by those three and is lashing out.

Patrice was sent home last night - finally! She is an okay singer but nothing about her knocks me out and I didn't find any of her performances that memorable.

Now it looks like things will eally start to heat up and the decisions as to who goes home are going to get even tougher.

At this point I can't really say who deserves to go as they are all good in their own way and each one has their own flavour to bring to the table.

Stevi-rocks 08-24-2006 12:14 PM

The song last night was alot better, prolly due to the rip off of a riff from a Queens of the Stone Age song, "No one knows" bout 3 years ago. Tobey was hot as usual, his abs are smokin'! Dilana acted like a dirt bag. She said Lukas was very dark and Jeckel and Hyde-ish. ~Ding dong Patrice is dead!~ I thought Storm would have definelty been in the bottom 3.

Linds81 08-24-2006 12:41 PM

Last night's episode was good. I was glad to see that Patrice went home. She has a good voice, just not what Supernova needs to front them.

I was so disapointed to see Delana talking trash about all of the others. She seemed like a class act, up to that point. Lukas sure wasn't impressed with her. This was bound to come out though... for the longest time the camera's have been panning to Lukas whenever Delana sings, or gets her praise from Supernova. He doesn't look too impressed with her.

I personally liked the song that Supernova performed last week. I thought it was catchy, that being said, I didn't realize that it was a rip off from another band. I wasn't too fond of last night's song. I love Toby... he's a cutie... but I'm just not sure he can front the band.

mauvaisroux 08-24-2006 01:17 PM

Oh yes! That was it! Dilana said there was someone in the house that she wanted to strangle or punch on a daily basis and that it was Lukas, that he had a Jekyll and Hyde personality. I was disappointed by her trash talk.

Stevi - I thought I recognized that part of the song but couldn't place it.

mom2cole 08-25-2006 10:58 PM

Hopefully Dilana's comments bite her in the butt next week and she goes home. I liked her at first but now she just sounds the same all of the time and she is knocking my boy Lukas!! I go to another message board where there are a couple of people who go to the taping of the shows and they say Lukas is the nicest one. One of the ladies was able to go backstage and take some pictures, a fly on the wall type thing, and she said when Lukas found out she was from rockband.com (the site has a huge Lukas fanbase) he wanted to pose for some pictures for his fans who call themselves the Rossi Possi. Pretty cool if you ask me, he was all into checking out her pics, posing and picking out his favorites. In the video clip they show on MSN on the rockers fashion, Lukas is talking about wearing a ring a fan gave him because he touched her life. A second lady who went to the tapings and was in the audience was holding a sign up that mentioned Lukas' band Rise Electric, and when he was leaving the studio he recognized her from the audience and was more than happy to pose for pictures. So to me this isn't the person Dilana's talking about, Jekel and Hyde my butt!!! Lukas hasn't even shown the voice he sings with in his band Rise Electric. Sorry for going on so long but I think Lukas is great. Guess at the first taping when Tommy saw Lukas perform he said to Lukas "lets pack up the bus and go on tour because he has found his guy!":carrot: :carrot:

mauvaisroux 08-29-2006 09:52 AM

Did anyone watch the mansion episode last night? Dilana had a huge breakdown -apologized sortof, cried, swore, gave the cameraman the bird, broke a glass (a piece of which hit Magni and cut his forehead  ) and lost her mind in general. She had the nerve to say that Lukas had a Jekyll and Hyde personality but I think the pot was calling the kettle black in this case and she had everyone in the house feeling upset and/or awkward.

I know that everyone there is under a lot of pressure but her behaviour was terrible and really showed another side to her personality. As one of the other contestants pointed out, how is she going to handle the stress of fronting a band, being on the road and constantly being in the public eye and dealing with the media? I also don't like the fact that she has dissed other contestants on more than one occasion.

By the end of the show she had recovered and was all sunshine and light again for "her fans". She used to be one of my favourites but after the last couple of episodes her behaviour has put me off. :p

That's a really cool story about Lukas - that was great of him to meet with those two ladies and pose for pics etc. Sounds like he is quite gracious with his fans.

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode as the best of the best are left and it will be a big challenge for them all to stay on top.

mauvaisroux 08-29-2006 10:59 PM

Wow! What a show tonight! Everyone did a good job. :encore:

My favorite performances were Lukas and Ryan. Dilana was good but I wasn't that keen on the song.

At the end of the show the bottom three were Toby, Storm and Lukas. NOOOOO! NOT LUKAS!!!! :( I think this is the first time he has been in the bottom three. Hopefully the tide will turn and Lukas will not have to save himself tomorrow - I don't think he should go home yet.

Personally I think the bottom three (based on performances) should be Storm, Toby and Magni - not because they were bad (they were all good) but because they were not quite as good as the others.

jules1216 08-30-2006 09:03 AM

I thought the Lukas did a great job at proving he is as good as Dilana with a Nirvana classic. I also give credit to Toby for helping Storm out--are there any of the other guys that would have done that for her???

I actually thought EVERYONE was good last night and I think the person's fan base and the band's choice to leave will be all that keeps them to the final three.

I actually thought that the three at the bottom at the end were Storm, Lukas and Ryan -- I am EST so maybe that changes for different areas of the country.

IMHO-My prediction is that the final three tonight will be Storm, Ryan & I think someone else will replace Lukas, I just dont know who but I see Storm or Ryan going home, more than likely Storm. I think both of them are great I just don't see either as fronting this band. I see Ryan as more of a solo artist--I don't think he has the same stage presence when he gets out from behind the piano as I do when he is behind it--I think that's his strength and he looks awkward when he is not seated at it, like he doesn't know quite what to do, but his voice is amazing!! My faves for the night were actually Magni followed by Toby--I liked the crowd interaction.

Stevi-rocks 08-30-2006 12:03 PM

Your right about the bottom three, Jules. It should be Storm that goes tonight. She got kinda screwed having to do "Bring me to life" though. She struggled with the range of the song. Toby is so freekin' cute! I thought he could have done "Rebel Yell" with more attitude, He sang it kind of straight. But he's got the whole package. His outgoing personality, spontinaity (sp?), Talent and he's stoooopid hot. I loved the piano slide from Ryan!! I did over due it a bit getting back up there afterward though. He sometimes screams and lands a little flat because of it. Lukas' style of singing really bugs...REALLY. He may have a really great voice but who would ever know with all the frog in the throat croaking he does. When he does go for a belter, he's all of a sudden possessed by Paverati...EGAD! Magni did pretty good. He has good control of the power in his voice. Dilana has been humbled. Prolly a good thing. I think she will recover fully. "Mother, mother" is the perfect song for her voice, she did it better live than the studio original. She could have taken a break from all the spastic headbanging though.

Storm goes tonight.

mom2cole 08-30-2006 05:53 PM

I think one of the reasons Lukas was in the bottom three last night was because for a couple of hours there was a problem with voting. Everytime you went to vote for Lukas it gave and error message. It was ticking off a lot of die hard lukas fans because they couldn't vote. I don't think he is in the bottom three tonight.
My guess is Ryan, Storm, Magni with Storm going home. We get to hear a new Supernova song and an encore tonignt!

Suzanne 3FC 08-31-2006 01:37 AM

So what did everyone think tonight? I was really surprised that Ryan went home before Storm. However, Ryan didn't do well tonight. Last night he was totally amazing, so I don't know what went wrong tonight. He screamed his song more than he sang it. I expected them to send Storm home as well. Didn't they say there are only 2 weeks left? They still have 5 people left. Will they send home the entire bottom 3 next week?
