I'm still loving Dilana and Lukas. I really like Dilana.

Hated Storm. Was I the only one that ran to Google when she made that comment? I wasn't surprised by what I found, lol. Though who can take her seriously after that? Maybe I'm biased because I think she's incredibly annoying.

Well the only surprise for me tonight was that Ryan didn't have to sing for his life.

Dana kicked it up a notch and out of the three I was glad that she got to stay.

I was hoping it would be Josh - he tried to rock out tonight but barely made it. I think my problem with him is he still sounds the same and he sings through his teeth.

Jenny did need to go though, as I have said all along, she is a good singer - just not a rocker.

Anyone have any predictions as to who is leaving next? :lol:

I thought that Dana did kick it up but she still is not rocking it - I thought she looked awkward. I liked Josh the first week but not since - he DOES look smug all the time and it sounds like he constipated when he's trying to get the higher notes. Jenny is good but it was definately time for her to go - not sure how she got into the top 15 really - shes not a rocker! There were way more Canadians that should have gotten farther than her. ET Canada had a preview of all the Canadians auditioning and both DH and I were surprised that she made it!

Dilana and Toby are my fave even though Toby didn't do well this week, Dilana just kicks it. I love her. Lukas is good but he looks like he needs to be in front of a 80's wanna be punk glam band,not a heavy metal band. I got mixed vibes about him.Zayra, I don't even know what to say about her,yeah I do just go home.

Lukas and Dilana kicked butt as usual. :)

I noticed Lukas was trying to sing some parts of his song a bit differently than his usual way and Jason was encouraging him to do more. He always brings style and personality to each performance. :cool:

Dilana did a great cover of Time After Time and showed her softer side while still owning the song. :encore:

Tobey was way better than last week :cp: He still needs to work on his personal style and stage persona.

Magni - great vocals on the Bowie Song but he needed to get up close and personal with the audience just as Tommy & Gilby said. :dz:

Dana - much better than last week and a little edgier. :cp:

Storm - I liked her performance this week, good vocals, very strong, edgy and less of the eyeball stuff. :D

Jill- her grinding Gilby was very off putting and her vocals get a screechy at times but she is okay. :rolleyes:

Patrice - boring and she smiles too much even when she is doing darker material. She could follow in Sheryl Crow's footsteps. :shrug:

Ryan - much more energy and a better song choice this week. :yes:

Phil - boring, no style, no stage presence, mediocre singer. :yawn:

Josh - boring, no style, no stage presence, mediocre singer :yawn: He can go home and sing the blues IMHO. :lol:

Zayra - neat outfit, lousy singing - she can get the boot this week. :p

I enjoyed the show last night - more so than last week!

Well I'm glad I don't have to sit through anymore of Phil's performances. His song was so bad that I had to put the sound on mute halfway through as I just couldn't stand it anymore.

I think everyone was shocked that Zayra didn't get the boot this week.

Patrice did redeem herself by pulling out all stops for her song.

Patrice did well tonight, but I still don't see her leading SuperNova. There's just something about her that screams "soccer mom" more than rock star. I still can't figure out how Zayra ever made it on the show.

I thought Storm did well, but I'm still hoping Lukas or Dilana will win.

I couldn't listen to Phil, so I am glad he is gone.

I think Lukas looks bored more often then not when they show him. And to be honest, I am not all that impressed with him. He isn't bad, I just don't think he is all that great either. :shrug:

I don't think that Supernova will last all that long after they get a singer anyway. They never seem to agree with each other. And I am not sure what to make of Gilby's comments about women in rock. Women aren't the only ones to use their sexuality to their advatage. Tommy used to play in his underwear! Also Tommy makes comments about how the women should wear less and how hot they are, but Gilby says they can't use their sexuality. Which one is it? Which one is "right" for the band? I am still confused on what in the world those boys are looking for.

And next week, please make them pick other artists then the Rolling Stones & Nirvana. Don't get me wrong, I like them but it is a little tiring to get 1 Stones song and 1 Nirvana song EVERY week.

There are only a few times where Lukas seems to be enjoying other people's performances. I think he is just trying to play it cool. :lol:

I think Gilby was just trying to tell Jill that she didn't have to resort to that same old rock cliche. I agree with you on Tommy though, I can do without his sexual comments to the women. :p

I agree with the song choices too and Phil's comment about there not being any harder rock songs in the choices they get every week. The problem is that the show most likely needs to get permission and pay to use those songs as they are copywritten so it depends on what they could get. I would also like to see something a little different in the song choices though.

Was Patrice ever rude to Ryan! Just because she is freaking out that she has to play with Tommy Lee on drums tonight doesn't give her the right to bite someone's head off for making one innocent comment. :rolleyes:

I didn't like the somewhat sexist comments that Toby made. :p

Josh and Zayra seem to be to intent on doing their own thing whether the band likes it or not and it may be the rock they both perish on. Josha seems to want to make songs that are bluesy or poppish and Zayra seems hellbent on ruining every song she does. Personally, either of them could go home this week and I won't be surprised or disapointed.

I notice that another Hole song was on the board (Celebrity Skin) - I wonder who got that one, I hope it wasn't Jill. :p

Some people over on the other board think he is holding out until a little longer in the show to show some more of his talent. Zayra - once again - what the heck was that? She isn't that great but she sure is interesting! :lol:

Jill - her performance was boring, she kept doing the same dance move over and over and then screaming some of the words. If you can't hit the note then screaming it out is not really the answer - few people can make that work.

Lukas screwed up the lyrics to Celebrity Skin but I think he wasn't feeling that confident this evening and it showed. We know he can do better than that so I hope he is not in the bottom 3 this week :crossed:

Patrice - did better tonight performance wise by I still don't think she could lead Supernova and what was with her faux-hawk hairdo? :?:

Magni, Dana and Storm all did a great job this evening :cp:

Toby - his look and stage performance has improved but I found something lacking in his performance :shrug:

Dilana - business as usual with her - she hasn't let us down yet. I loved how she got into the crowd, then right in Supernova's faces, then getting that guy in the audience to piggy back her to the centre stage - genius!

Well I am on the Pacific coast and just got done watching Magni and he rocks. I didn't like him the first week but since then I think he is great, along with Lukas of course!!

I am sorry to say it, but I was embarrased for Zayra. It was almost painful to watch. Not sure what she is thinking. She is a good singer but not for a rock band. Jill is on right now and I am not liking her either tonight. Definately those two in my bottom 3 along with Josh and I haven't even seen half of the rockers yet.

Ok, I liked Josh. But he likes to sing the type of music I like, like the Black Crowes, and more blues/rock type of stuff. And that isn't all I like. I have a very eclectic taste in music, but I am really losing intrest because it feels like the same thing every week. Mostly it was due to the song choices. I would much rather listen to Josh sing the Black Crowes then hear another Nirvana, Hole or Coldplay song by any of them. But that's just me :D I thought he did a great job with the Sublime song. He was one of the few I actually sat through and didn't change the channel. Him, Storm, Dilana, & Dana are the only ones I watched all the way through. Otherwise I would just keep flipping through channels.

I feel like Josh just wants to do his own thing and being in Supernova isn't right for his musical style. He would be very good at singing Black Crowes type of songs since that seems to be his forte. He's too mello for this band and I agree that he doesn't really change things up week to week.

I think we are also seeing some personality traits surface from the singers that we didn't see before as the competition is getting more fierce and the better singers are left out of the original 15.

Things are getting tougher and I am seeing things in people now that weren't apparent before - such as Patrice's rudeness towards Ryan (uncalled for IMHO), Jill's obnoxious/childish behaviour and defensiveness, some of Toby's comments that I didn't like, Lukas' slip in confidence (he looked worried during Ryan's performance -like "Oh no - this guy might be a threat now!), Dilana over critiquing herself, Dana and Ryan's increase in confidence, Storm showing a softer side, Magni growing stronger as acontender.

It is very interesting to watch the changes unfolding in all of the contestants. Some people that I liked at the beginning are losing some of their appeal for me and some people that I didn't care for are growing on me.

ITA!!! I so didn't like Magni the first week but i'm liking him lately! Same with Ryan - he's stepping up good! Lukas was sooooo thrown off by Ryan's performance but I think even if he ends up in the bottom three he'll survive - it may do him a bit of good actually - I think he's a bit to cocky. Anyone else still not loving Dana? I still think she'd be a better country singer.

Dana is okay but not a rockstar type. She would be good as a country pop star though.

I don't think last night's perfomance will get Lukas the boot. Others have done worse and are still there. I think the experience might smarten him up and make him work harder - hopefully.

I missed last week due to being in NC for a funeral--so I couldn't comment until last nights show...

I have to say that my opinions pretty much parallel those of mauvaisroux, but here goes:

Dilana--one of my two top fave from the start--she is so consistently good that the others have a way to go to catch up

Toby--was my other fave but he is slipping for me--can't put my finger on it--maybe it's just I am starting to actually like more than him and Dilana--

Magni--was one of my four least faves but I am finding myself liking him more

Ryan Starr--even though every time I hear his name I think of the girl from AI and The Surreal Life by the same name, but he really impressed me last night I have to say I never disliked him--I had strong opinions about six and the rest were in the middle

Jill--she just doesn't do it for me, never has

Dana-suprised me last night--she is improving but I don't see her making it to the final 3

Z-she has never been a fave and I think the only reason the band keeps her is for the laugh/shock factor for the ratings--even the rest of her competition can be seen laughing at her when she performs

Storm--She's growing on me--really liked last nights performance

Patrice--I like her voice just like I really liked Jenny's--I just don't see her as the lead singer of this band--didn't like that the rudeness came out with her stressing under pressure

Josh--LOVE that song--sang along but he isn't cut out for this band unless they are going to be VERY different than what I see them being

Lukas--I haven't decided how I feel about him--some weeks I like him and some weeks I don't -- didn't like how he kept his back to the front of the stage most of the song

Wow - some surprises tonight!

Lukas expected to be in the bottom 3 but I knew he'd be safe since he's been delivering a good show since day one and he just had an off night.

Toby??!!? - I never thought he'd be there tonight but I guess some people felt the same way I did about last night's performance.

Patrice doesn't do it for me and neither does Jill. I think they are both pretty good for what they do but neither of them are suitable for Supernova. I can't imagine sitting through a 2 hour concert of those two singing. I think they may do better under different circumstances.

Zayra - she was more surprised than anyone that she was safe! :lol:

I thought Josh would be in the bottom 3 - he did okay with his song but I just think he sounds the same all the time and there is nothing special about his performances.

Dana still has a lot to learn and is way to young and inexperienced as a singer and a person to make it in a band like Supernova. I think she will do well in the future though and she handled her exit with grace. :encore:

I haven't seen the show yet, but I have seen the spoilers and I can't believe Zayra hasn't gone home yet. She is a joke. I have been wondering what is going on with lukas and his last performance, which was terrible. How many times does Jill have to be in the bottom before she finally gets the boot?? She reminds me of Kellie Pickler on AI -- both are cute blondes with decent but not awesome voices - giving some good, some bad performances & IMHO getting by on their looks for one more week.....

I know both Dana and Patrice won't make it to the final 4, but they both deserved to stay longer than Jill and Z -- at least Dana seemed to be getting better each week.

I agree Ryan deserved the encore and I like it that he is humble....

Jules - I feel the same way about Josh as you do about Jill. I'm tired of seeing him each week. He is an okay singer but not outstanding.

Jill and Patrice are okay, Dana has a great voice but for another type of music - not rock.

I don't even know how Zayra made it onto the show in the first place. Watching her performances is either entertaining or painful. I think she would make a great singer if she sung in Spanish though. :)

1. Lukas - I thought he nailed Creep - it was great to hear him do a ballet
2. Ryan - I LOVED this performance and think he is becoming a contender
3. Magni - GREAT GREAT GREAT accoustic performance - he could be on the top 40 right now however I'd like to see him change it up - he's been doing slower songs for 3 weeks now.
4. Toby - I liked him in the beginning but I think he's been going downhill ever since however I thought he did excellent!
5. Dilana - She did great with Gilby however I wasn't wowed by her performance - maybe cause I didn't know The Who song though
6. Storm - Great job doing Queen IMO
7. Josh - Good vocals - I just don't think he's right for the band
8. Patrice - I'm not normally a big fan of her's but I thought she did good
9. Jill - Okay - I think she should go - well I really think Zayra should go but it seems she's sticking around for some unknown reason

Dilana--set the bar high as usual--the performaning with Gilby showed that she could actually front this band

Storm--awesome voice she is becoming one of my faves--not many can do a Queen song justice but she nailed it--her range is amazing

Jill & Z--not bad this week never the best either, Z did better with the slower song, but neither is at the level of this group of singers--as the group sizes down even Z's theatrics and Jill's looks will keep them around

Patrice--love her voice--just don't see her fronting this band and doesn't seem to have a fanbase to keep her around

--bottom 3 at the end of the show were Patrice, Z and Jill--I see one of them going home tonight

Josh--love his voice and didn't freeze up with Tommy jumping onto the drums to join him--sang Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots--once again I sang along but I don't see him being the lead singer of this band

Magni--Magni "Unplugged" stripped down to his voice and an acoustic guitar with no background was one of the best--I didn't like him at first but he is growing on me

Lukas--gave me goosebumps!!

I left Ryan and Toby to do last because the judges kinda of contradicted themselves with these two IMHO:
both were good, actually everyone did pretty good last night--not the best of the night--Ryan channelled Z with his performance and his vocals suffered for it--didn't do it for me but the band loved it while Toby added the megaphone which I didn't care for either and the band bashed him saying that his vocals should stand alone but his voice is right on key--I actually thought Toby's perfomance topped Ryan's....

My faves of the night--Dilani as always, Storm, Lukas, Magni and Patrice

For all of you Rock Star fans I got a little spoiler for tonights show, there will be two encores!!!!!!!!!!! Don't know which two but my guess is hopefully Lukas and Magni! Guess one of their songs is done completely different for the encore! I can't wait, I am on the West Coast so I am staying off the internet for the rest of the night so I am surprised. Oh yeah and the bottom three were not the three they showed at the end of the show! Enjoy the show. Both Lukas and Magni got encores--I really liked how Magni changed it up by using the band and rocking it a little more.

Jill & Josh--Jill never did it for me but I actually liked Josh's voice but his inability to listen to the judges instead of being who he is (and the bobble head thing he does) didn't make him the right lead singer for this group

I think they made the right choice last night. Next up - Send Patrice, Zayra, and Josh home. I won't mind if they do it all in one night :)

Has anyone changed their predictions for the outcome? I'm leaning towards Magni now, and didn't even consider him at the beginning.

Actually both Josh and Jill went home last night. I do agree that Patrice and Z both have to go and then it will be down to those that can actually be the winner and front the band and each performance and song choice will get more critical. I am also with you on Magni becoming one of my faves after being on my least fave with Jill and Z for several weeks.

Name mixup -- I meant Toby instead of Josh. :dizzy: I never did care for him, though I think a lot of people did.

I really liked Toby (actually just him and Dilani at first)but I don't like him as much as I did.
