What type of flooring do you prefer—hardwood, tile, vinyl, or something else? Have you had any great (or terrible) experiences with specific brands or installers? Also, how do you balance quality and budget? A well-chosen wallpaper can elevate even the simplest floors and create a cohesive, modern look without a huge investment.
If you’re doing a full interior refresh, don’t overlook the walls either. I recently discovered a great selection of modern wallpapers that totally changed how I see room design. They come in a variety of clean, contemporary patterns that pair beautifully with wood, stone, or minimalist floors. It's such an easy and affordable way to elevate the whole space and tie the room together without spending a fortune.
I’d love to hear your insights, experiences, and any recommendations on where to find good deals. Let’s help each other make the best flooring decisions!

Great questions — flooring decisions really can make or break a space, both aesthetically and practically.
Personally, I’m a fan of engineered hardwood for living areas because it gives that warm, classic look but tends to be more stable and budget-friendly than solid hardwood. For kitchens and bathrooms, I go with tile — preferably porcelain — since it’s durable and water-resistant. That said, vinyl planks have really come a long way in recent years and are great for high-traffic areas or if you need a more affordable, low-maintenance option.
As for brands, I’ve had good luck with Pergo and COREtec for vinyl, and with Marazzi for tiles. It’s worth checking local suppliers too, since they often have clearance stock that’s just as high quality.
DIY tiling can be rewarding if you’re meticulous and patient, but I’d recommend starting with a small area unless you already have experience. The key is good prep — leveling the floor, planning your layout carefully, and not rushing the grouting. For larger or more visible projects, I’d personally hire a pro, just for peace of mind.
Maintenance-wise, regular sweeping and damp mopping (nothing too wet!) works well. Use felt pads under furniture legs, and always wipe up spills quickly — even on waterproof surfaces — to prevent staining or warping.
Would love to hear what direction you go in. Good luck with your project!
