Default Feeling sad and mad at myself (financial)

Checked my credit score in anticipation of speaking to a loan officer and discovered it took a quite unexpected nosedive over the last year and a mortgage is out of the question.

At least I'm so depressed I lost my appetite. LOL?

I'm sorry to hear that. Fiances I think are one od those things in life that never really get taught but everyone needs to know. Can you imagine how it would be if school taught us budgeting and credit card stiff instead of trigonometry? I'm to scares to even look at my credit score! It terrifies me. I don't know the first thing about raising it :/

Sorry to hear this. I am also trying to get my financials back in shape (credit card debt that I want gone).

It's a bit like weightloss.

Make a plan and stick to it.

Also like weightloss, it can take longer than you think.

There will be cheat days.

And nearer maintenance you should find it easier.

The good news is I have money, just sh*t@zz credit. I failed to notice because when you have enough money, you don't need credit.

Until you want to buy a house. I don't need to buy a house and I will still eventually get one. I just thought I was getting one soon. Heigh ho. :/

I'm sorry to hear this. That must have been really disappointing news I'd recommend signing up for a service such as Credit Karma which will allow you to monitor your credit score monthly. Your bank may even offer that service. And hopefully you have a financial adviser you can work with on the best, fastest ways to boost your credit score.

I hate the credit score system! But if you learn how to play the game, you'll be able to get a house in no time.

I had the problem of having NO credit rather than bad credit. I had money and paid cash for everything. Is this what you are talking about? Your loan professionals should be able to advise you about what to do to improve your credit score.

The credit reporting business sucks and it is a nightmare to straighten out any errors.

I have a delinquency in the past year because I dispute the amount they claim I owe. My gas bill at my last apartment never went above $20/mo, usually closer to $15 and I paid the balance due when I moved. Yet they now claim I owe them $160 and initiated collections when I refused to pay it until they itemized it. I've been letting it unnecessarily drag out and I honestly had no idea one small delinquency could drag average credit down to poor.

Oh yes, it's very easy to destroy a credit score, and very hard to build it back up.

Ugh, now I'm having tax return issues, too. I've been to H&R Block twice already and have a 3rd appointment and the return still isn't complete. This is after they previously made the 3rd appointment without telling me about it, then chided me for not showing up when I called today to request an update. I've lost all confidence they have any idea what they're doing and made an appointment with an accountant instead.

I am not happy this week. My situation this year (large investment income and W2s from two states) is more than I feel confident handling but I really didn't think H&R Block would find it so daunting.

Aaaaaaand now I just realized I completely screwed up a project I've been heading for my professional association. Can a sinkhole please just open up and swallow me now? I'm literally in tears.

I had the same experience with H and R Block scolding me for missing an appointment that I didn't know I had last year! This year I am going to the accountants...

I hope life gets better for you soon.

I'll never deal with H&R Block. They didn't know about tax credits that my father qualified for, we haven't used them since.
