Rules for life:

Practice good psychic hygiene: stay away from people who are negative or drama queens. Avoid energy vampires.

Trust your instincts.

Get a thick skin.

Seek nourishment from those who love you.

Don't spill energy on those who don't love you.

Someone's negative comment says more about them than it does about you.

Look for the best in people.

Claim space for the good in the world.

Avoid making assumptions.

Hmmm....more if I think about it.

Great post Annik! Sometimes we unwittingly spend too much energy on negative things. Maybe this girl just thinks she's sharing an inside joke with you. Fb can be really toxic sometimes, there's all kinds of articles lately about how people get depressed by it etc. I've had a couple of instances where someone said something that rubbed me the wrong way and I used the power of the delete button. It works wonders.

Could add to that, 'claim your power to delete!'

Just to follow up. Hubby said nothing about it. I'm guessing he read it by now since she tagged him in it...I figured I'm going to take the ignore it route. I was going to delete it but when I realized she tagged him in it , well I think that means even deleted he would see it? I don't know all those specifics of facebook. Hubby has never brought pancakes to work, so don;t know what this girl is thinking.

Hopefully it was just an inside joke, and if it was I really don't care. When I met her she was dating someone else at work, and got pregnant and they were together and the baby is now like 8 months maybe?? And she broke up with him about 2-3 months ago as per facebok and is living with her mom. Not knocking her, just saying she's probably having a hard time and maybe she was trying to connect with an old coworker, my husband (oh yeah and she started a new job which is hard in its own way too) ...

HUbby is NO Where near as sensitive about comments as I am. He's unhappy about his weight, but I know he doesnt see a fat insult around every corner! Me having spent pretty much my whoe childhood obese, I tend to find insults on weight where they probably dont exist! :P

As long as my husband was like "whatever" I'm cool with it.

If she wrote it to you as a comment on your post then you have the power to delete it even if someone else was tagged. Your husband would receive a notification but when he clicked on it it would have said "this comment is not available" or something like that. So yea, you could've deleted it and he wouldn't have seen it. But glad all is good and nobody is upset.

Hmm, kind of a strange comment unless your hubs mentions a passion for pancakes. Glad he didn't take offense...maybe just one of those weird fb things.
