So, I was at Walmart yesterday to pick up some groceries. I was walking down the frozen foods aisle and these two "country-boy" guys passed me. One of them said "hello" while he was passing me, so I said "hi" because I figured he was someone I knew, but didn't recognize. He then proceeds to say with a drawl, "You sure are pretty." Personally, I assumed he was making fun of me or just a pervert, so I went on walking and ignored him.
Now I don't really know if he was being serious or not. Guys don't notice me. That's a fact. It was weird.
I bet he was being serious. Some guys are just really direct like that & it freaks me out when it happens to me because I'm not used to it! Most men don't take a second look at me, but when they do, I'm suspicious, lol. Take it as a compliment!

I am like that too. I (used to) assume that every compliment was sarcastic and any attraction directed my way was a dare. One time, back in the day, a very cute boy was flirting with me, and when I wasn't looking, he snuck a kiss on my cheek. So obviously I decked him... In hindsight that probably wasn't the best reaction and he didn't seem to be interested in me after that...
I have no idea how to respond in those kinds of situations and have a hard time taking a compliment (although now, as I have been getting more of them, I have just learned to say thank you and leave it at that!)
Psychic - Get used to it girl, there will be more where that came from I'm sure
Haha that is so funny. I remember feeling that way quite well. I always got really mad if someone hit on me! But having a boyfriend kind of changes things. Buuut sometimes I don't believe him when he says I have a 'great' body haha! I do have a good body, but not at this weight!!
Haha, sure you were being hit on, pretty lady! I feel you though, I'm highly suspicious of comments from guys too. It's something I'm trying to work on, most guys really are not jerks at that level, so I'd say take that compliment!.
I've done that before. Where people have hit on me and I've shot dirty looks or rolled my eyes thinking they were being sarcastic or making fun of me somehow. Sometimes when I definitely know they are hitting on me now, I sometimes rethink my reaction. 'Did I come off snotty, should I have smiled, etc etc" - we are horrible critics of ourselves. haha
