OMG I love Dr. Who!

My man watched it, all the really old ones, and it did nothing for me. We've been watching the new ones now and I love it

1.) How/when did you get into the show?
My boyfriend watches them. I got hooked when we started the new series

2.) Who do you love more: 9, 10, or 11?

I was meh about 9. Loved David Tennant, was so upset when he left, I'm actually starting to like 11

3.) What's your favorite episode?

I cant think of the titles, but the first weeping Angel one scared the living **** out of me. I also really liked the one in 1930's NYC with the Darleks, and I like when Captain Jack crosses over

4.)Who is your favorite companion?
I liked Rose, but I really like Amy, she's funny as ****

^^^ Oh I love me some Capt. Jack!!!

I don't know why I'm just not crazy about David Tennant. Well, actually, it has something to do with the way he talks sometimes. Like when he says certain words. I dunno, I'm weird. There are moments when I really like him as the Doctor, and I am much more fond of him now than I used to be. I like him much better when he's speaking with his natural Scottish accent though. Maybe it's that I saw him in HP as Barty Crouch Jr. before I ever knew him as the Doctor....

I've found series 5 and on has been a bit too "epic" and not serial enough. I hate to complain but I've found it confusing and with too many plot twists lately

I so agree. I think Steven Moffat is more interested in creating drama & love triangles & plot twists & confusing timey-wimey stuff than anything else. I realize drama makes for good tv, but at some point, it gets old. I think I get annoyed when a show that I love just doesn't make sense to me. It bothers me when the writers (especially Moffat) exploit the complexities of "time travel" for arbitrary drama that just doesn't really make sense. And maybe I'm too picky, it is just a tv show after all....

Skelling, I just watched the Season 3 finale last night & I was like "Holy crap, this is AWESOME!" Seriously epic episodes.

So did I! I watched the Christmas special and episodes 1 & 2 of season four tonight.

1.) How/when did you get into the show?
I saw an episode with Rose and the Ninth Doctor and began watching religiously after that.

2.) Who do you love more: 9, 10, or 11?
The Tenth Doctor is my absolutely favorite! I adored him and really really miss him! It's funny because when David Tennant first took over for Christopher Eccleston, I was upset because he just wasn't the same. But by the second episode, I was hooked! I'm so excited he's going to be part of the 50th Anniversary Special!

3.) What's your favorite episode?
If we're including specials, I would have to say The End of Time is my favorite. It does a great job of wrapping up David Tennant's time as The Doctor and brings in all of his past companions and friends. I seriously cry every time I watch it. If I had to pick a regular episode, I would probably pick The Girl Who Waited. I love the focus on the relationship between Amy and Rory. It's gut-wrenching to watch the ending.

4.)Who is your favorite companion?
I think Rose is probably my favorite followed closely by Amy and Rory, then Donna, and Martha last.

I watched Voyage of the Damned last night & I've watched 1 & 2 of season 4 today. When the Doctor & Donna are in Pompeii, I noticed that Amy plays one of the priestess girls. I was like "Gosh, that redheaded priestess looks just like...it's Amy!" So sneaky.

@Immaculate, when I watched The Girl Who Waited, the ending just broke my heart. My favorite part is when Amy is describing how a person's appearance becomes more about how attractive their personality is as you get to know them & how Rory is the most beautiful man she's ever known. Rory might be my most favorite character of the whole series.

That being said, I am loving the newest companion and I've only seen up the Bells of St. John. Clara's lovely!

Yep, it is The Empty Child :)

I definitely agree with what you said about the new episodes now though. I think it would be much better if some of the stories were played out over a few episodes. At the minute it feels like there's 40 minutes of building an interesting story, then five minutes of rushed (often ridiculous) conclusion that leaves you feeling unsatisfied. :(

So I'm thinking of surprising my boyfriend with a bathroom redo. I'm going to paint the walls dark blue, I found towels on etsy that say "The doctor" & "companion", A sonic screwdriver toothbrush, and of course, a tardis shower curtain.

Too much? :D

Never! That's such a great idea!! Journey through time and space while sitting on the toilet? SURE!

I've only seen up to Cold War episode of this season. Anyone else totally adore it like I did? It was such a fun episode with 1 concrete misunderstood bad guy and I love how they tied it into the Waters of Mars. So cool!

ReNew Me 04-22-2013 05:38 PM

Ah, Jeez I feel so old. I discovered Dr. Who when I was in high school and my favorite Doctor will ALWAYS be #4, my favorite companion Leela and my favorite episode The Deadly Assassin.

However I did really like David Tennant, loved the episode Blink (the whole timey-wimey thing). I think Donna was one of the better companions, thought Martha was dull as dishwater and everyone else was just sort of eh except for River Song. IMO if the companion isn't really, really smart then they should at least have some useful talent (like marksmanship or general aggression).

Ah, I love it!!!

Skellig, I liked the whole "stuck in a submarine" thing in Cold War. Where was the Waters of Mars tie in? I must have totally spaced out & missed it, I need to pay more attention!

Fortunately, Clara is starting to grow on me. I just hope she stops being so flirty with the Doctor. River Song would totally kill her for that, but as the Doctor is 1,000 years old at this point (or so he said), I'm guessing she's already met her end in the library :(

Thedollylala 04-22-2013 11:26 PM

Aw Yay I don't know how I missed this!!!

1.) How/when did you get into the show?
It's been around a year, a client came in asking for 11s hair cut and I was like ok enough is enough I'm watching! I started with season 1 of the reboot, then watched season 6, then 5, then 2,3,4 haha. I river songed that mess! Unintentionally.

2.) Who do you love more: 9, 10, or 11?
Eleven is my doctor but I genuinely love them all, even classic who, I just love watching William hartnell as the first doctor and giggling that this man would be doctors 9,10,11

3.) What's your favorite episode?
Way Too many to make a choice up, but I can't watch several, several times over, school reunion, turn left, the eleventh hour, the doctors wife, a good man goes to war!

4.)Who is your favorite companion?

River song, well she's his wife and doesn't travel with him all the time but unf!!! I'm so glad she will be backfor the finale

I'm such an uber fan, even tho it's a new love for me it's right up there in my heart with Hanson and Harry potter. I'm anxious about this season and I'm conflicted on Clara and I can't wait for the revelation, but I believe she is just a normal girl and what the doctor has seen in the past is actual future Clara that hasn't happened to her yet, Thats my Moffat theory.

River will be back for the finale her name Is in the poster, (below) and I don't think his name will be revealed I think of the title as more of a "in the name of the lord" type of way... Kwim??
