Default Magnetic Finger Nail Polish

Just wondering if any one has tried them. I was in the beauty store today and they had one brand on clearance. I asked the clerk what she thought about them and she said that she had heard it takes forever to actually work, and the design didn't come out very well.

I've seen other brands on the shopping networks being demonstrated live, and they seemed to work fine.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried them or had any thoughts on certain brands.

I bought some from Sephora about two years ago (I remember because I used a Christmas GC and it came on my birthday and I remember THAT because I kept making everyone look at my awesome nails). It worked really well and really quickly. You put on one thickish coat being careful not to overlap, hold the magnet over the wet polish and there ya go. It takes like, 30 seconds. Of course, it took me only 28 seconds to decide if some is good, more is obviously better so let's go dig out stronger magnets!

I'm not big on "nail art" for grownups but I think the magnetic polishes are fun.

It worked for me and I thought it was pretty easy to do (I am a nail art junkie and use SOG polishes so hence me thinking magnetic nail polishes are quick and easy in comparsion.) I had the Sally Hansen ones in Golden Conduct, Silver Elements, and Polar Purple and they were all beautiful.

It does take some trial and error at first but easy to pick up.

I might have to give some a try!

I did buy the crackle finish and put it on last night. My boyfriend has never seen it before and thought it was just the neatest thing since sliced bread, lol.

My cousin bought a bottle and her little girl loved it.

I have a copper one I love. It's easy and subtle, but noticeable.

I have a few colors from the Deborah Lippman collection. I LOVE them. Just make sure you follow directions (ie. base layer, then top layer which you use the magnet on). My friend just did one coat and tried to use the magnet it on it but it didn't work... needs the base layer!

OK. Now I'm curious.
How much is it?
Does Sally Beauty Supply carry it?
How long does it take to dry?

Sounds like fun!

I haven't been to Sally Beauty Supply, but I know that Sally Hansen has a line and I think SBS carries SH.

You can get it from Walmart, Walgreens, CVS and Target. It takes the same time as regular polish to dry. It is a bit pricey though, up to 9 bucks per bottle. I got 3 for free from my mom since she got them from a friend of a friend for like 10 bucks (for 3 altogether) so I don't honestly know if I would have bought one on my own.

I could be biased though because I prefer gel polishes since they last longer on my nails and they do sell magnetic gel polish which I would buy over the regular.

I saw a Sally Hansen gel set up. Actually it was 2. One kit was around $70 and the other around $30. Not sure what the difference is since they both has some sort of lamp in them. There was no mention of a magnet in either one.

Hmmm. Guess I'll have to hang out in more nail care areas.

What does the magnet do? Will any old magnet work?

cbmare, I shop at Ulta and that's where I saw the polish. I don't think any magnet will do simply for the fact that they have different magnets that create different designs.

Each Sally Hansen magnetic polish bottle comes with the magnet which is attached to the top of the brush applicator. But I didn't know they had different magnets to create different designs, niceee!

PS I need to check out ulta soon.

Would some of you post a pic of your nails? I broke 2 of mine so I'm nursing them back to health.
