First job interview EVER in an hour. Any tips?

  • So in an hour I have my first interview for a Job ever! It's at a boutique. Any advice!
  • Make sure to ask questions! It lets the interviewer know you're interested
  • Yay! Congratulations and good luck! Some tips I've heard/read from hiring professionals:

    * Dress how you see the sales people dress plus one.
    * Be nice to EVERYONE, and be the ultimate professional from the time you walk in the door. Remember - you may be interviewing with the manager (or whoever it is), but you don't know who will be evaluating you or will be part of the ultimate hiring decision.
    * Try not to be nervous. The interviewer is a person, too, and has objectives for what they are trying to accomplish. Think of those and try to fill those. If you are a good fit for the position, you are doing her a service. The absolute worst outcome is that you are not offered a job. No real risk here.
    * Smile.
    * Breathe.
    * Take a pause to consider your answer before you give it. (I can't do that one, though I've tried. But it is consistent advice.)

    Let us know how it goes!
  • Do not chew gum, do not wear dangly earrings, simple is best for an interview/
  • How did it go?
