The moscato was -very- sweet, it tasted like spiked grape juice, which is by no means a bad thing. As for the picnic itself, the fiancé failed to inform me that the path to the sand bar required Indiana jones-esque bushwhacking and a knee high wade through a rushing river. So I got a good work out getting there.
We ran into some nudists sitting around the opposite side of the beach, we kept to ourselves for a while till they started walking around and getting very close to us, trying to shock us with their floppy bits. I,for one, am not easily intimidated! I whipped my shirt and bra off and got a nice tan on my ta-tas!
I love it !!!! Sounds like you all had a great time. That is sooooo nice!!! Sounds like there was big fun for ALL, including the nudists. NICE !
Ok, so last night was my first night of the beginning of my wine tasting journey. Last night's wine was Barefoot, Moscato Deliciously Sweet Wine. It was "ok" but it doesn't have the VERY VERY SWEET taste that I am looking for. I want something that is sooooooooooooooooooooo sweet, it will make my eyes cross-eyed. LOL. Ya know the kinda sweet like Sweet tea that has 5 lbs of sugar in it kinda sweet? Yea, that kind.
The other wines that I purchased this past week are:
Sutter Moscato
Sutter White Zinfandel
I have compiled a list of ALL of the wines that EVERYONE on this thread has mentioned and I WILL buy and try EACH and EVERY wine that you all suggested. The list is in my wallet and I am updating as the next person posts the wine of their choice. I'm gonna have fun tasting all of these wines !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE MY WINE FRIENDS ON THIS THREAD !!!!!!!!!!
Ok, my journey with the wines has been GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tasted A LOT of wines and I have narrowed it down to the best one. I have really enjoyed the Gianni. It is sooooooooooooo sweet. Just like I like it. It's about $10.00 a bottle but worth it. I am in sweet wine heaven when I drink it. Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone. It was a fun journey.
Believe it or not, I've had a Chateau D'Yquem and did not like it. It was REALLY heavy and caramel-ly. (I know that's not a word but fits the taste) I actually could not even finish it. Granted, it wasn't the best year and pretty inexpensive as that wine goes ($100 for half a bottle) so maybe I just had a poor version. Needless to say I was very disappointed as it's supposed to be nectar of the gods. Maybe I just have bad taste! I'd still like to sample the original first growth wines at least once in my life.
I guess it just boils down to storing and collecting that kind of stuff and drinking from my favorite local vineyard instead.
As everyone's said, Moscatos and Rieslings are very sweet. Also, if you spot any Cupcake brand wines, those are also quite sweet. I like their Riesling and Chardonnay best, but they also have some reds that are on the sweeter/fruitier side.
If you're feeling adventurous and your local liquor shop has a big selection, ask about umeshu. Umeshu is plum wine, and it's essentially an alcoholic juice box. Over here in Japan, they even sell it in juice boxes sometimes. Soooo good.
I'm not sure what kind of selections you have, but you could also try wines that are from a "meadery" rather than a "winery". They are honey wines and are insanely sweet. We have a meadery not too far from where I am, so it is very familiar to the locals. I'm not sure how far reaching they are. They might just be a local thing.
