It's potentially embarrassing, actually. I have a pretty decent chest size. I wear a 36C, but my breasts are REALLY spaced out. I'm not sure if it's due to my weight (like back fat) or what. I've tried push up bras, but they don't do much, either /: Is it weird for them to be spaced out? If I lose weight should that help some, too?
It's totally normal, don't worry. Mine are so spaced out they're practically hiding in my armpits!
Do a spot of googling. I forget the name, but there's at least one site out there with a project documenting normal female bodies. It's got page after page of boobs: all shapes, all sizes, all normal. "Normal" for human bodies encompasses a much wider range than you see in the media.
I have kind of tuberous breasts and they're small and far apart but since I started wearing the right bra size (30DD) I can have great cleavage. Before I was wearing a 34B and I thought it was too big a cup for me because it was loose and didn't do anything for the girls. I feel a hundred times better now.
Mine are too. 36D, though my right one is sort of not there. :/ It didn't really develop. I asked my doctor about it once and she blew it off with the "most people have breasts that are slightly different sizes". That annoyed me, because it's not that it's smaller - it literally never developed. I think if I wasn't overweight there would be nothing there. But partly due to that, mine are spaced out too. I went bra shopping with a friend and she kept shooting them all down. When it happened to a bra I REALLY liked I was like "why???" and she said because my breasts weren't doing the "line" thing, and I had to explain that that's never happened for me. They're too far apart!
When I get to goal I am going to get the right one fixed so it's the same as the left one.

The cleavage line, down the middle of your chest where your two enormous boobs press together permanently, no matter what your position in relation to gravity. Rarely spotted in ordinary people, this phenomenon can be observed in pornography and media that demand impossible standards of the female body.
Unless you're wearing an awesome and well fitted bra that pushes your boobs together, of course. But it's a pretty unusual thing to have when you're not wearing one.
LeilaJey thanks for passing on the link! Definitely, definitely check if you're in the right size first. I also want to mention if you're in the higher band sizes you *might* even want to try smaller band sizes than your ribcage measures as. There's even more variation in bra band sizes in the 34/36+ range and it's not uncommon for women to need to size down depending on the brand (since you're losing weight it's ALWAYS a safe bet to size down in the band and get an extender in the meantime, I've done it many times but just make sure the cup sizes are correct!).
As for wide breasts vs. closely spaced breasts here are some brands that will work well for each:
Widely spaced breasts:
Panache and Curvy Kate. Specifically look at the Panache Harmony which has a very wide center gore. If you're looking more for plunge bras try Curvy Kate's Elegance, which does amazingly well on widely spaced breasts (but I definitely would NOT recommend this for closely spaced breasts)
Closely spaced breasts:
Ewa Michalak and Bravissimo. Ewa Michalak has amazing bras in general but they'll work well for narrower, deeper breasts (esspecially ones that are close together). Bravissimo is also good for narrower breasts and especially ones that are bottom heavy.
For both..
Some in between brands are Freya, Fantasie, Affinitas, Allegra. Basically, the trick is to look at the center gore before buying. See how widely spaced it is. Now, for those who DO have closely spaced breasts you can actually sew the center gore together to help with fit (I've done this myself often). Unfortunately, for wider spaced breasts I don't know any tricks that would help so definitely look for wider center gores.
Projects like this one are just so great! When I was a teenager I thought that I was looking strange, like not normal. I was too ashamed to ask my mother or sister. A site like this one would have helped so much.

Currently wavering between a 32C and 32D depending on the bra shape and how hard it is to find smaller bra sizes without ordering online. I find that a lot of bras seem to cut into the top of my chest (it's not breasts because mine are shallow. It's just chest...) while smaller sizes just aren't wide enough!
I found that losing weight has made them appear even more widely spaced as in the last 5lbs they've suddenly shrunk! On the plus side, my husband has never had a single complaint!

Oh, ok. I get that with some bras, but I hate it because it makes the girls all sweaty in between. I much prefer the bras that lift and separate. Without a bra though, my boobs just hang down and play dead.

first off, it sounds like you're in the wrong bra size. If your underbust is 28" you should be wearing a 28 band, at most a 30band. That would mean you're more likely a 28DD/E/F. A big reason you're probably having a problem with fit is that your band is too big so you're not getting enough support (or uplift). To give you an idea of other women about your size:

It does not matter what bra I wear, unless I'm over 200lbs I will not get pressed together cleavage. The adds two cup sizes bras get close but don't really achieve that look either. And I have to buy those in the wrong size because they don't make them for my size. Thankfully there are very few times I wish to have dramatic cleavage and they are almost exclusively costume based.
I have broad shoulders, so I think I also just have a broad chest which is why my boobs are like this.
