Baha, my friend put me onto that 212 song and I listen to it driving around the Irish country roads
I'm a big classical music fan, I love moody, dramatic cellos and pianos especially. Also metal, definitely. I've been to more metal festivals than I can count really. I did 7 in a Summer once. Black/death/melodic/stoner metal. Gojira & Mastodon are up there in the metal department. I also really love old music like Ray Charles and Ella Fitzgerald and old jazz like Django Reindhart. I think I like pretty much something from every genre.. even a bit of pop occassionally (hey, it's catchy!). Oh and I listen to old rap when I'm cleaning the house haha
I love, love, love, love, LOVE (seriously!) Mastodon! It's melodic, and just heavy enough, but smooth. It's just so easy to get lost in!
I've yet to see them in concert but DH and I decided if they're within a 500 mile radius... we're going!
You totally should! They're amazing live. They barely said anything at all and the crowd was just mesmerised! I saw them at Hellfest a few years ago it was class.
I don't like Mastodon but I love Gojira. I bet you would love VLE too LeilaJay, all the "Book of Illusions" albums are super, very ambient and melodic!
I only have one album of Gojira's and, must admit, I haven't listened to it extensively. I've been meaning to grab a few Baroness albums as they're along that same line of melodic/prog metal, DH has been seriously bugging me about it. Maybe I'll do that now instead of, you know... working.
Cheers krampus! I'll check them out when I'm home again with my speakers and away from my mother whose brain seems to start melting when she hears metal music ha
Doooooo it xlmuffintop (also your avatar makes me crave muffins) and listen to Gojira!
My iPod is bipolar, but I usually go for alternative rock.
I'm a huge fan of Switchfoot, Hanson, The All-American Rejects, My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, and Josh Groban.
I'm very sensitive to music, so anything that moves me is so good! I listen to a variety consisting of: Opera, Broadway, Symphonic metal, Celtic, Soft rock, J-pop, Classical, Some rock, some country, Oldies, and so on. Pretty much anything except R&B and Rap.
Some favorite singers/bands: Sarah Brightman, Andrea Bocelli, Vitas Bumac, Kristin Chenoweth, Nightwish, Barry Manilow, Josh Groban, Owl City, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, Akira Yamaoka, Utada Hikaru, Buddy Holly, The Cure, Adele, AFI, Bee Gees, Mado Robin, Natalia Dessay, Maria Callas, Ruthie Henshall, Chopin, Kiri Te Kanawa, Nikolai Baskov, Vas, Evanescence, Iron Maiden, Journey (with Arnel Pineda), Heart, Emilie Autumn, The Green Children, Simon & Garfunkel, Katherine Jenkins, Vast, Greyson Chance, Tilo Wolfe, Sumi Jo, Skillet, X Japan, Idina Menzel, Michael Crawford, Queen, Garth Brooks, Dixie Chicks, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum (sp?), Taylor Swift, Renee Fleming, Secret Garden, Elaine Paige, Susan Boyle, Mr. Hudson, Alice In Chains, Karen Carpenter, Bob Marley.... I have gone to 5 Mastodon concerts and met them 4 times! Me and my boyfriend have a HUGE autograph collection just from those 4 guys alone. Amazing live and very cool to meet in person!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mastodon, Tool, Ghost, Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Adele, Garth Brooks. I am a metalhead at heart but I love ALL music and at least a couple artists from every genre
