Some little old lady, a stranger, poked me in the ribcage and called me
Fleshy!

Yes! This is actually part of how I'm mentally dealing with the fact that I cannot eat as much as I want for the rest of my life. Instead of being pissed off about my slower than desired metabolism, I'm telling myself that my bit of Irish blood must have famine survivor genes in it. Absolutely a mind trick, but I gotta do something to keep plugging away.

I usually just refer to myself as round. I really like the term curvy, but somehow I find that it doesn't suit me because I don't have an hourglass figure. Is curvy a term describing a woman with big boobs, big hips and a tiny waist? I wish I looked like that. I'm just...round.

I actually much prefer the word fat. It may not be politically correct, but most of the euphemisms are just so silly and juvenile that they seem (to me) more disrespectful and offensive that the simple word, fat (and I really, really, really hate the word "fluffy" it makes people sound like cartoon character sheep).

The problem with political correctness, is it ends up being an elite club of people who happen to be "in" on the most currently in-vogue words. The intent of the word ends up meaning less than being "in fashion," because the "new" politically correct terms always end up becoming insulting and then a new word takes it's place (and the cycle continues).

It becomes more a fashion-statement than a reflection of the speaker's meaning.
