My closet was conquered yesterday! I got half of bag of clothing that I'm going to bring to Value Village, I got a bag of clothing that can't be restored in the garbage haha. My room on the other hand is STILL a mess...I got all the dirty laundry sorted and in the hallway for whenever I'm ready to do it! (I really need to buy a vaccum.)

Today is my long working day so I'll probably just accomplish dishes and kitchen counter tonight.

Yesterday I accomplished the grocery shopping and chopping up the veggies into tupperware. But I used my old tupperware instead of the new.
Even though my kitchen is really big for an apt kitchen, my storage space is cut in half because of the roomie. So until I find a spot for my new tupperware, I can't wash and use it.

Today I'll get ZERO housework done. Working a really long day and will be going straight to bed when I get home. Oh well. There's always tomorrow!

astrophe: do you like your steam mop? I have tile in my kitchen and the swiffer pads just don't get the grout lines clean like I'd like them to. But I love that I can take the reusable pad and toss in it the washing machine. (well, it isn't swiffer, but it's a similar style).

MiZTaCCen you conquered your closet in a day?! Want to come do mine? Hahaha

normally I'd offer baked goods as thanks.
I'll eventually work through it. Maybe I'll get inspired this weekend to tackle my mess of a closet.

MiZTaCCen: WTG on the closet! I totally get enjoying other people's. I used to swap days with a pal. One week I'd go help her with her projects and the next week she'd come help me. It was more fun cleaning her garage or whatever. Same probs as me, but it was more interesting to look at her (new to me) stuff and tidy than mine (boring same old UGH).

Quiet Ballerina : Yay for groceries! Yes, I like my steam cleaner thingie but it took me a long time to save up and get. It totally creamed the tile grout that I could never get before. I was amazed!

So I'm back again for the monday catchup after a crazy weekend. Got the jump in it last night because I couldn't stand the LR floor. So here's where I'm at so far. I want to breeze thru the monday stuff to maintain those areas and then concentrate on LR box clutter I want to deal with this week.
  • Washed 1 load
  • Declutter LR
  • vac/mop LR
  • make lunches, launch people on their days
  • take meds, about to eat my own breakfast

Oh I agree!!!

Sunday was very very productive! Man, I'm such a slob...So I cleaned my room, moved things around and vaccumed it. I also got ALL my laundry done! I moved the ugly coffee table from the bedroom out to the living room and replaced it with a smaller side table. (I still need to buy a dresser!) I then went into the kitchen did ALL my dishes (three loads in the dishwasher...it's a small size dishwasher through not regular or I'm sure it would have only been 1.5 loads haha.)

I have a guest coming over on Wednesday hence why the motivation to get ALL of this done. lol don't need first house impressions of me being a slob...haha.

Today's Tasks:
Living room
Bathroom
Sweep and mop both.

Volia I will be finished house work for April!!!

MiZTaCCen Yay! You go! I'm sure you will have a good time visiting with your guest!

Over here?
  • I had breakfast.
  • Paid car insurance
  • I threw a load of party tablecloths to wash so I can put them away later.
  • I got a box of magazines and papers to recycle trash.
  • I sorted a box to donate
  • I got a bag of trash out
  • I got a box of toys started (gather all the toys there for fine sorting later)

Ugh. Allergies are going beserk and I'm feeling resentful about the toys. DH bought the kid THREE new toys this weekend. But doesn't do anything to help me/her SORT the old ones out of here so we maintain an equilibrium. Sigh.

Taking a break and then back to it.

Okay, weekend cleaning wasn't as productive as planned.
I did get almost all of the laundry washed dried & put away! Only one more load, and that's mostly towels. Super easy!

Tonight:
-Target after work to get a few things
-Last load of laundry
-clean bathroom floor/counter/mirror/toilet/etc
-vacuum my room & living room
-dust in my room

Two of my things are cooking related and not housekeeping related, but I figured that's okay.
-make healthy empanadas (I want to make a bunch so I can freeze them. Easy to grab for lunch or dinner! First time attempting them so fingers crossed)
-trial run of cupcakes for this weekend. (I really should have done them over the weekend, but I decided today to go the cupcake route vs cake route)

So basically....I'd better hit the ground running when I get home tonight. I'll need to sort out how I'm going to multi-task to make sure time is on my side. But if I get this all done today it'll be great!

Being 9 months pregnant makes my house...less clean than normal, to say the least.

I do need to take it slow, but at least today I can:

-Vacuum my house
-Empty Dishwasher - Done!
-Neaten Living Room/dust coffee table - Done!
-Dust Office - Done!
-Walk Dog - Done!
-Fold 2 Loads laundry -Done!

So I finally made that housecleaning appt...its all booked till June 9! Its OK though, like with my body, sometimes the good things take a little longer than expected. On the plus side, I have more time to put things away and tidy up before they clean.

Emptied the dishwasher- but then realized that I needed to add walking the dog and folding 2 loads of laundry to the list.

My April cleaning is almost done! Just need to dust off few last shelves and my flat will be like brand new!

Luckily before I began I browsed some articles how to make cleaning more effective and in this article about spring cleaning tips I stumbled upon this interesting "recipe" how to make a homemade glass cleaner.

-one cup of water
-one cup of rubbing alcohol
-tablespoon of vinegar

Thanks to the vinegar it is also super effective on lime and scale and now my bathroom is sparkly clean!
