How do we know the baby is Shane's? She slept with both of them within a very short time (Shane before Rick was brought to the camp, Rick the first night he was in camp). We'll never know who's the real father of that baby. Lori did refuse to acknowledge that the baby COULD be Shane's though, I'll agree to that. But there is equal chance that it's Rick's or Shane's.
Shane needed to go. I liked him at the beginning, and liked looking at him, but he was a loose cannon who was getting worse. I wanted him gone from the moment he fed Otis to the walkers. I'm not saying it was all his fault...obviously Lori had just as much to do with that. And I wouldn't have expected him to just turn his feelings for Lori off - I felt really bad for him, actually. But she made her choice, and that choice was Rick.
And in my opinion, Shane most definitely intended to kill Rick that night. Why else would he stage the whole Randall incident, get Rick out there alone, then pull a gun on him? I think by that point, Shane had just plain lost it.
Just my two cents on Shane

Bear in mind, I LOVE Rick, so I am probably biased.

I have always hated Merle. I felt like I was the only person in the world who was NOT happy that he was coming back. For that reason, I really hope they do redeem his character in some way. But I'm not sure that's possible after all he's done.
I am so mad that Tyrese and crew are at Woodbury. I am holding on to hope that something happens to turn that around, because it's just not right!!
If this Woodbury plot doesn't end with Andrea gone, I'm going to be pissed. LOL. I do not like her one bit. But I knew she wasn't going to kill the Governor at the end of the last episode, because that would have been a too easy and anticlimactic way for him to go.
