Default Question for the e-Bay users!

I've recently been having a clear out on e-Bay, I am wanting to sell a games console now. It was purchased this year and I'm wanting to provide the receipt to the winning bidder to they can have the warranty etc.

But since I paid with my card, I'm not sure if this is safe?

I realise the receipt blocks out most of the card number-But it still has the last few digits, the expiry date and my name on it.

Would the receipt still be valid if I blocked out the card related things?

If someone could respond I'd be really grateful, I have seen a lot of people selling items with receipts but I can't help but feel it is a bit risky?

I am in the UK, if that has any relevance!

Thanks a lot :-)

Yikes, I wouldn't risk it. Why don't you ring the place you bought it from and ask if the warranty is transferable, and if so, how? Or perhaps ask how it would work if the item was a gift?

There are lots of people doing things on eBay that they're not supposed to, or which are just plain bloody stupid. I've come across everything from "no returns" for new items (hello, Sale of Goods Act, distance selling regulations?) to used undies for fetishists turning up when I innocently attempted to buy a pair of tights.

Yeah that's exactly why I wanted to see what the opinions on it are!

But at the same I wondered because where I live, we have those self service checkouts at stores and people are always leaving their receipts at them.
Surely they wouldn't leave them there if they could be used as a means to gain access to their money etc.

I will try phoing the store and asking about the warranty though, that is a good idea, thanks

Would still like to hear any other opinions on it though, it's really not my area of knowledge and I'm relatively new to e-Bay!

Nonsense! There is to be NO GIGGLING on the very serious subject of fetishist tights!

You can still see some of these being sold if you look up "worn tights" (nothing too dodgy, don't worry). Some of them proudly announce that they're laddered too. The mind boggles. They don't seem to be selling very well...
