Shredding for the wedding

  • Did anyone see the premier for this last night?
  • I thought it was called shedding for the wedding? And I thought the premier is tonight?

I'm somewhat interested in it and will only watch it tonight cuz it's going to be on from my understanding after Top Model.
  • My mistake it is shedding. I got the 30 day shred on my brain! haha I thought the premier was last night and I just thought I missed it. But if it's tonight I definetly wanna try to catch it
  • Yup it's tonight after Top Model
  • I saw that. Reminds me of another Biggest Loser. I'll try to tune in
  • That is too funny! I thought it was shredding too. I tried to do a search for it by title on my DVR and got so frustrated! lol.
  • Shedding for the Wedding reviews!
So last night i watched the first episode of Shedding for the Wedding. I'm still trying to decide whether I like this show or not. I just hate the whole "weight loss competition" feel!

Last night's episode was pretty basic, whereas u met all the couples and the trainers. I personally dont like the trainers at all! Why tould you tell someone "let's see how long that smile is on your face!" Really?!?!?!? Was that even necessary? I feel that these couples are under a lot of pressure as is, and dont need their trainer being mean and rude to them in the process. To me, weight loss should be challenging yet fun.

The contestants got to pick out their dream wedding dress and tux. It was kinda weird that the guys had on suits that already fit them and the women picked dresses that were way too small. One couple won a dance challenge and was able to keep their dream dress and tux.

At the end all the couples weighed in together and the 2 couples who had lost the least had to challenge each other to fight for another chance.

All in all, im sure ill keep watching just to see how it goes, but im not sure if ill be a true fan.
  • Eh you know I meant to stay up for it but it just doesn't seem appealing to me when couples fight for a wedding. To me I wonder if they are even going to STICK with it afterwards since they are doing this for a wedding and not necessarily to be healthy. I know one contestant said he wants to have kids and be healthy for them but eh... Not really feeling it.
  • I don't really watch tv or reality tv so I wouldn't even know a show like that existed until someone posted it. But I agree MzJuicyD weight loss isn't about competetion it's about a life style change and unfortunately these people will probably lose a lot of weight but once the wedding is done, and everything is over go back to their regular life style they lived before.

Weightloss should be challenging and fun and I agree to have a trainer as a jackass, I'm pretty sure I'd be picking fights thats for sure, but thats the price you pay for going on television and trying to win something.
  • I just looked up the ratings- it got a 0.8/1 - that's really low. That means 0.8% of homes in America were watching the show, the second number means 1% of people in America were watching that TV show last night. 1% of 300 million Americans is not much lol.

I think that just proves America wants to see people get healthy for the right reasons.
  • So I watched while walking on the treadmill last night. I have been married for 17 years. Eloped with my husband and never had a wedding. I don't regret it for one minute. So I may be a little skewed on my opinion, but do some of the "dream" weddings sound crazy to you? Really?? A gamer wedding? A beer pong table? Ummmmm....I guess if someone else is paying for it. Okay, not even then. lol.
