Great idea! My company surprised us by giving us the 3rd off! We are closed on the 31st, which means a wonderful 4 day weekend!

I bought a stranger a lottery ticket yesterday.
I got another freelance job for January.
And.....I had lunch this week with someone I haven't seen in 23 years.

A good thread idea. I need to share that my 82 year old mother came through back surgery this morning like the trooper she is.
While the nurse was showing her which button to push to call for a nurse, and which one to raise her head, mom asked what to push to call for food. Got a laugh from us all.

I've been struggling to get exercise in and can't afford a gym membership right now, my awesome hubby signed up the whole family for a family pass at the local Parks n Rec which means free gym, swims, skates and aquafit for the next year

Last night I was walking home in between the snow drifts (Brooklyn after a blizzard), and this food delivery guy stopped his car in the middle of the street, scaled the four foot wall of snow, and ran up the steps to the front door he was delivering too. He said to me (in great spirits) "and the night's just started!" I laughed and told him how impressed I was with his snow maneuvers.

I grew up where it never snows, and get nervous walking on the ice, and don't have great snow skills. I went to work all this week (except Monday, when the subways were down), and so many people were nice and helpful grabbing my hand to help me over slick patches (icy subway stairs) and getting over and/or through mounds. Was very nice.

This was a good time for me to find this thread--I had my tonsils taken out 5 days ago and am in excruciating pain right now. But, I can be grateful I had insurance, time off from work, and loved ones to take care of me. Thank you.

Yesterday I went with my grandmother
to visit some of her friends.

They had grandkids around my age.
I'm thankful for meeting some new people!
