Ouch. I'm planning to go to school out there (Southern Cali) next fall, but will have to find part-time employment. Is that like, impossible atm?

Gloria - Where are you going to go to school? I went to UC Irvine and I worked on campus. At the time, I was paid better than if I had worked off campus. Of course I'm sure on campus jobs are affected somewhat so not sure how those are still doing.

UC San Diego. That's interesting. I will definitely look into that.

Not impossible at all. There should be an employment office on campus that can assist you with finding employment on or off campus. Good luck to you!

Also, check with their special services department. There are often positions available to be a notetaker for the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing. This also looks good on your resume.
