  • Dutch--I was careful with it. Wound up helping once I got to relax a bit. Now I'm just doing back breaking housework before I start my graves. I HATE GRAVES!!!! (and house work too.)
  • Hello all

I met with the Doc this morning and he said no to surgery for right now. He thinks I am doing pretty good with the PT. Still can't exercise!

I am eating OP and still losing. (Probably some muscle)

Just have to let you in on a landmark that I hit. I am now in ONEderland!

I am going to try and check in here more often. I miss your wonderful humor!
  • hattie that is good news on the surgery and also awesome job on ONEderland. keep it up.

anyway another day down the drain. the only big thing that i got down was taking some stuff out of my garage to the side of the road for our towns spring large garbage pick up that we do every year. and i am sure there is more in there around all of my mom's junk that she still has not moved out of the house since we bought it in july. that is starting to drive me nuts is all of her stuff still here. but that is another topic and could take a while to discuss so i am leaving it at that.
  • Congratulations Hattie22
Sweet Onederland Bom ... Bom ... Bom

As sung by an ecstatic Fenway Park full to the top of the green monster, off key, of course, but roughly to the tune of Sweet Caroline.
  • Hattie, welcome to Onderland !

Julia: Chicken Pox ..Yikes. I guess it is good it is not that Pig Flu!

    Speaking of the Swine Flu...
Somebody told me today that their son works for some big health group and they had a meeting on the swine flu.. He then called her up and told her to go to the store and buy 2 weeks of canned food today. He said that if it hits..people will swaarm to the the grocery stores and there won't be any food. Also..if it hits here in the USA like in Mexico, we might be quarantined.
I find this all hard to believe...but somewhere in my head ..I am thinking ...but what if.

    What do you think?
  • I live about 50 miles north of the Mexico border. We live and work among many that travel across the border daily. Angie teaches at a middle school with the majority of the kids having relatives in Mexico that come and go...

I am going to the store....
  • I live in Northern Calif not as close to the border as Gary but we do have a large Hispanic population here many of them go bqck and forth to Mexico. I previously lived in a neighboring county with a 77% Hispanic population. It was well known that Hispanics delay going for medicsl treatment , they often use herbal remedies and the like . This is my idea of why the swine flu seems to be more deadly in Mexico than here ( so far, anyway) Also in Mexico some live in very remote places, difficult to get medical treatment if they were inclined to do so.
  • TRYING to close this thread, Gary... now why would you do that? Huh? Seriously? You know you don't have those powers... neither do I... hey, maybe you and I can get go in cahoots and figure out a way to be Official Thread Closers. Wanna?

Now about this whole Swine flu... haven't heard any outbreaks or newsworthy stories about it here, just the usual Whole area coverage. Hoping it doesn't span out and that we can contain it and rid it sooner rather then later though. I am not going to go out and grocery shop for two months worth of groceries either, as I have plenty of food here now. But if they need arises soon... as in more news stories tell us to do so, I may get some more boxed and canned items. Just to have on hand.

BARGOO ~ Also according to the LA TIMES today...Mexico can't get people to go and get the sick ones...they are afraid.
