Oh - I know what helps sometimes! Thinking of food as a budget.
I long for food I can't eat, and stuff I can't buy. I would looove to drop about 1000$ on clothes and sexy boots and pretty underwear. I want the 6 Feet Under box set, the Wire box set, Gilmore Girls box set, books, cookbooks, a new coffee table, new glasses, new silverware, jewelry, tons of songs from iTunes etc etc etc. What stops me from buying all that STUFF I want so badly? Well, I can't afford it.
I can't afford to buy whatever I want and I can't afford to eat everything I want. I slowly turn the pages of the Sundance jewelry catalog the exact same way I slowly turn the pages of the Harry & David catalog. I want but I can't have. Or, I want and I can have ONE THING, not everything.
Why is it so easy for me to accept my monetary budget and not my calorie budget?
Plus, if I eat all the stuff I wanted, I'd outgrow my clothes and then BOTH budgets would suffer!!!
Hi,
My biggest weakness is cookies, especially peanut butter. I also have a weakness for potato chips. I like chocolate but have to be in the mood for it and can eat it in moderation.
mine is anything BAKED! example- cookies (soft choc chip ones omg!), slices, cakes, brownies any sugary treat. Far out and they are in the office every 2nd day without fail!
oh and chips and dip/ cheese on crackers..yum..im hungry!
My biggest diet temptation is probably pasta - I love me some pasta.
I'm having a really hard time lately fighting a lot of health temptations. I have lots of fruit allergies that I've developed over time, so I know what these things taste like, and lately, I really really just want to eat some cherries and a tart green apple. However, knowing those things will make my throat swell up is keeping me from eating them...
My biggest temptation would be fast food. Pasta and bread would be second. Being bored is dangerous to a diet. At least for me. I find the more activity I do, the better I do by not thinking about eating.
Cheese and crackers. I could probably go the rest of my life without Italian pasta. I love Asian pasta. They cook it all the way. So, I have to avoid won ton and other soups in Asian restaurants.
I love love love cheese. I have to avoid most of it. I do have some FF whole wheat saltines in my desk and some Laughing Cow Light Swiss in the fridge. I will allow myself 4 crackers and 1 wedge of cheese for my snack sometimes.
Another weakness would have to be dill pickles. TJ's Kosher Dills are awesome. There are next to no cals and no fat but I have to watch the sodium.
