Last year or the year before, I think it was, a fight broke out in our Walmart over some electronic thing. People seem to not remember that people are more important than things, and they try to substitute a good deal for good interaction.
Here's a good thing: A year ago, a guy I know went down to get some item (I don't remember what it was), and they handed out numbers to people waiting in line. People were talking about why they wanted this thing, and the woman just after the numbers talked about what a hard year it had been for her with a divorce and job loss. Just before the doors opened, the guy standing right in front of her gave her his number, said his teenage son would understand, and walked away!
