Wow, #12 hook?! Sheesh, i dont think ive even seen one that small, the smallest hook i have is an E. I had to look up steel hooks, didnt know that lace hook sizes run differently. The pattern is making my head dizzy! I know its all repeat but I have a tendency to mess up somewhere then not be able to figure out where and have to tear it back to the last row, and thats with a G hook sized project. I made a beautiful shawl once, but I am in awe of the doily. Bravo!
For the henna, its so easy... although my friends think its too invovled, its just not. You get some henna at a local Punjab market, or world market, even asian markets sometimes. That way its waaaaay cheaper. (around $2 to $3) Bring it home, sorry, duh. Take out about a quarter cup and sift it thru an old pantyhose. Put it in a non metal, non porous bowl, and add little bits of the following... instant coffee (already mixed up, 3 or 4 ounces of hot tap water with a spoonful or two of instant coffee), a few drops of tea tree oil (this is what is known as a twerp) and a squirt of lemon juice (no need to fresh squeeze b/c it'll just add pulp that'll plug up your tip) Mix it up till you hit a toothpaste consistancy, and let it set for at least 4 hours but not too much longer than 8. Then you just need to scrape it out of the bowl and into a container or cone. Check out this site, it'll explain how to make cones...

(this is an excellent site! lots of info)
I also use this fabric paint contianer "Scribbles 3D fabric paint" You can get it at Micheals or JoAnnes for about $1.30. Drain it of paint and fill it with Henna! It'll keep for about 3 days in the fridge.
Ah, too much typing, good luck and let me know if you do it or need any help. Missy
