I'm not a big almost-naked-in-public kind of person, soo even if I achieved perfect thinness and firmness, I doubt I'd ever wear a bikini.

Personally, I think there is a level of public beach nudity that is, for the most part, unnecessary. Even if a person has a "perfect" figure -- is @ss dental floss REALLY necessary, for instance. I don't think so.

But as others have said, the decision of what to wear on the beach -- or anywhere -- is an individual choice based on individual comfort-level. To this day, I'm still uncomfortable wearing sleeveless tops, for instance, and I can't wear anything that would force me not to wear a bra. I also feel uncomfortable in really LOUD colors... I feel stupid. I also hate wearing the color red. Other people LOVE sleeveless tops, loud colors, red etc. etc.

No one is too "big" for anything! I've seen big, beautiful gals with a glorious pin-up girl's figure looking stunning, and also skinny minnies looking like a twig with a band-aid on it. A flattering bikini can be found in all sizes, if you have the lovely skin and confidence to wear it well. Me, I would rather not, as loose tummy skin has left me more flattered by my fabulous purple tankini. I wear it because I think it makes me look great, and my self-rockin' attitude when I wear it proves it!

All I can say is - whatever size you feel comfortable in.

I was in Maui for a week, and women of ALLLL sizes wore bikinis. No one batted an eyelash! My DH was even trying to convince ME to wear one of the itty bitty bikinis that some of the 300+ lb women were wearing. For me, I just wouldn't feel comfortable.

But for the beautiful larger ladies that wore them - Good on them!

I have seen plenty of women who in my opinion looked HORRIBLE in a bikini, but hey! They must have felt good in it so what's it to me? I keep my opinion to myself, I'm sure there are people who have seen me go by and thought "ewwww!*

Whatever your looks.........people will talk....always talk. Do what feels right to you. That's how I see it! Good luck!

Default Before you judge

Ever hear that saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder?... Is it too possible to be too skinny to wear a bikini?? No matter how you look somebody is either going to like it or not like it. I'm pretty thick. I'm 185 lbs and a size 12. I'm training to run a half marathon this year and a marathon next year. I'm very active and fit. I've run over 700 miles in the past year. My boyfriend says I look good in a bikini and he's a personal trainer whos ripped. I've got compliments both ways so I say if you want to wear it wear it. People like different things. What's attractive to some isn't attractive to others...
