Duckie,
sounds like you have a man who really loves you...as you are, but you don't have confidence to love yourself. I didn't want a wedding dress, but did it for my Mother...and even now I can't bear to look at the pictures BUT there may be something out there you like...a few months after my wedding I saw a kimono which would have been perfect for me, and I keep saying I'm going to have to get married again so i can go with what I want this time!
I know it's hard to think of yourself as a sexual person when you feel fat, it's somehow not enough that your partner obviously thinks you are sexy...wish I had the answer to that one...
I think wanting to bike with your son is a good reason for wanting to be fitter, if you exercise you WILL feel more energetic and if you're like me it will make you feel happier. I read exercising releases endorphins, natures own happy pills. ican heartily recommend it, even if you don't lose weight you'll tone up.
Good luck to you, especially with the confidence thing...don't drive away the people who love you becasue you don't love yourself.

How about considering the other end of the relationship scale. I am close to reaching goal at the present time, hubby has been really supportive through the whole weight loss thing, but he is having difficulty with a skinny wife. His insecurities compound when the guys at work make remarks to him about his wife (we both work at the same place).

I'm not young, and along with that goes the unattractiveness of age, but he is feeling really threatened.

I guess the saying is...Be careful of what you wish for. You may get it, but a whole lot more problems, too.

Hello everyone!

I am yet another newbie. I just popped into the chat area and I know it sounds cliche but losing weight will not make everything else in your life perfect!

I am 34 and I still have a struggle with my self esteem but I dare myself (sometimes double dare) to do things and go places that I used to be afraid of.

Cherryarmy, you have to stop watching that show! Firstly that girl is not attractive( all the guys I know have told me they think she looks ill), secondly, no one really lives like that (Hollywood schmollywood), thirdly, wasn't that character involved with a married man? Not a good role model.

I suggest you read some books, work on things that interest you, look after yourself physically, mentally and spiritually and you may end up feeling better about yourself and it will show on the outside too. Don't put off living until you lose weight. A lot of people go through the same thing and there seems to be alot of them on this site offering help and support so hang in there!

On a lighter note.. I have finally done something that I have wanted to do since I was 15...Bellydancing! I joined a class and was really shy at first but the music is great and it is so much fun! It feels great!

Well I have to sign off now, good luck to everyone with their weight loss plans!
