  • I may have to get ours weeded and start Ruth...Angie was going to pass on it this year with the new GRANDbaby and me out of town a lot...

however, I will be home a lot more now that those projects are close to being finished and...

she is on another "organic" only (mostly) kick again....
  • All that weeding is good exercise, cheaper than a gym.
  • WOW! I actually slept until 4:30 this morning....

must have been that staying up until 10 babysitting that GRANDkid!

she was just talking away....so smart at 12 weeks......maybe the smartest kid ever....wink
  • I'm up ! Been up awhile, had to check my email and bank balance.
  • 320 . . .
    . . . 180 to go.

I get far more email than bank balance.
  • Had an awesome Fathers Day....

    bittersweet....

my dad, Angie's, my sil's, my nephew's have all passed on and my dil's dad is in another state and suffering results from a severe stroke several years ago...

But for a few hours, church service, breakfast and visitng with them and that GRANDkid as she shared her first Fathers Day with her daddy all was well.
  • Mine was bittersweet too, Gary. It was Father's Day 1985 when my DH and I bought this old house that had been out of the family for over 30 years. My Dad was very touched and delighted. Why does 1985 feel like just ten years ago?

Gary, you and others were so lucky to have your dads in your lives as you were growing up. My dad passed away when I was 17 months old. I have been ticked off about it ever since.
  • Yes, Bargoo, we are very lucky. I wish I could pass on some of my memories to you.

Hey! It's the longest day of the year. How can we celebrate? Is it too early for a beer?
  • Quote: ....... Is it too early for a beer?
    "you talkin' to me?"
  • I wouldn't have to ask if I were talking to you. Actually, I'm just in from a huge day of garden work (cutting trees along the fenceline) and am about to pop the cap of a CANADIAN brew! It's the real thing.
  • My dad passed away 5 years ago. But I got to see my son get married on Fathers Day this year. And my new daughter (-in-law) got to walk down the aisle with her Dad. It made a nice new memory. My daughter got to celebrate Fathers Day with her Dad. I got to watch my nephew-in-laws spend time with their young sons. Very nice Fathers Day.
  • My friend Glen has three grown children One lives in Virginia, 2 live in different cities in California. He got the same identical Father's Day Card from all 3. They didn't get together about what card to send, they were purchased at 3 different stores in 2 states. What are the odds of that happening ?

That happened to me once with my 2 kids but one was bought locally and the other in Minnesota, while my daughter was visiting family.
  • So tell us BILL....

is it a self portrait or is it Theo?
