I have never seen Strawberries by the pound. Just by the quart, flat, half flat, etc. Maybe that's because I live near strawberry country, near U-Pick fields, where the county fair is the strawberry festival, which started yesterday BTW, where the featured item is the strawberry shortcake. But I go on ...

I adore strawberries but we won't have any until the end of June. The Florida ones are (IMHO) much better in flavour than the CA ones. Distance?

Hey! Because we are iced in, Church has been canceled. I'm going to make like a pagan and soak in a hot tub for a while before I tackle removing the ice from my car so I can drive it into the barn.

My daughter in law is a strawberry eating fanatic....

went to church last night just in case it snowed....

it did once...in '69

enough for a solid 4 inch snowball....

all of the kids on the block gathered high and low for that one!

Distance is great for me - from the field to the roadside stand to me.

Or if that's too far, to the field to pick them. Rinse then eat. Mmmmmm!

*** Sigh *** Got a spare bed? There is a 12" drift of snow blocking the door to my back deck and not a strawberry in sight!

The strawberries are great! But if you like apples, you can rarely find a decent one in Florida.
