Point of Clarification...

I mean things for which the company name has "become" the name of the product no matter who makes it. Kleenex now means tissue no matter who makes the tissue. When you ask for a kleenex, you don't care if it's made by Puffs, it's pretty universally called a kleenex. I even heard it called a Puffs kleenex once.

If one owns a Caddy, that is often how it's referred to because a Cadillac is considered special, but it's a car. Someone with a Honda wouldn't call their car a Caddy but probably would just refer to it as their car.

Any brand of whipped topping is commonly called Cool Whip and a Xerox came to mean a copy of something no matter the maker of the machine used to make the copy. See what I mean???

This came up on another forum in which a British chick said she was hoovering the carpets. Good chance her vacuum isn't even a Hoover. Could be a Kirby or Oreck. But, you wouldn't hear someone say they were Kirbying the carpets.

I love the shirt BILL! I think I will order one!

Could be a regional/trade thing here OPERATOR but in drywall we use little rolling scaffolds...there are two brands that are the best....one is larger than the other...we call them Bakers or Perrys....those are the brand names.

Tampax and Jello

My 2 cents worth!

Going to the lawyer today with cousins. We would like to be medical power of attorney for her. Just in case she can't make decisions. She thinks we want her money. Which is CRAZY! She hasn't ever been married and she is the last one of 7 siblings. My 2 cousins and I are the only ones that live close. It has been a riot...the other night she had to sit by the nurse in the nurse's station...cuz she keeps getting up without assistance. And they now have an alarm on her bed or in the chair if she is sitting in it. It won't be long and she will learn how to disconnect the alarm!

Smart and sneaky tend to be qualities that match up well with strong and independant. Especially in women. Those nurses may be in for the run of their lives.

Some of you may know that I have health issues. My oncgologist recently recommended that I see a therapist....does he think I am crazy or is he reading this forum ? I told my friend his suggestion, her reply , "You don't need a therapist you need a bartender !".

As long as you are talking to your friends here, you don't need a therapist.

This is not intended to be interpreted as a medical opinion as the author is not qualified to provide a medical opinion.

No EZ. You don't get to call it "Shock Therapy" when it is really just that you suck at electrical work.

Just a couple of months ago I stepped out onto the back porch and saw a helicopter flying above my head. It was actually close enough to blow my hair a little bit. Turned out my neighbor had gotten himself killed working on his kitchen. He was doing something with the stove, which was electric, but there was also talk about smelling gas. He was pretty blue when his wife found him. They weren't sure if it was an electric shock or asphyxiation that killed him.

Everyone, and I do mean everyone, knew the man was a total klutz and no one was "surprised" that it was the way he would go. Sad as heck though. Somethings really are best left to the pros.

EZ, I hope Angie installed those fire alarms and
a) you didn't
b) they're not just lying around uninstalled and useless.
