Operartor - Do you surface miners identify with Chile's underground miners?

I am pretty sure that if my brain was a stick of dynamite, I couldn’t blow my nose. Stick a fork in me, I am done.

My hometown is mostly underground mining, so... YES!!!! Many, many of our friends are UGs, so YES!!!! I also got a call one night that lead me to believe my husband at the time was killed, so... YES!!!! It was actually the X telling me that one of our friends was dead, but his voice was messed up from the dust and stress(he was on the mine rescue team) and he was being very formal. I had been asleep for about 30 minutes when the call came in and wasn't completely lucid when I heard, "L, there's been an accident at the mine resulting in a fatality...." I thought it was the safety manager telling me it was the X. My chest and head exploded and I started becoming hysterical. Took him about 5 minutes to calm me down enough for me to understand what had happened.

I saw the first guy come out just before work last night and darned near lost it watching his son. Excuse me, I gotta go wash my face now.

Whadyawanna bet that there will be a population explosion in Chile, say about next July or so ?

I missed most of the coverage yesterday. I really wanted to see some of it. I can't imagine being down there or coming up in that little cage.
