OK, so I was invited to join an Honor Society(Phi Theta Kappa). Ya, me, the dumb, little ol' girl.
I thought it was a sorority at first, but that seemed odd at a 2-year college that doesn't do housing and all and that a dude is in charge of it. And, why the heck would they want a 43 yr. old mother to join a sorority? The letter and web site mention access to scholarships and job opportunities with a letter of recommendation. Oh yeah, and I would get to wear special "regalia" at graduation(if I go).
Do any of you know much about this stuff? It's $75 to join. If I can get some scholarship money, it might be worth it. Even better would be to be able to get a really good job or internship. But, with trying to keep my grades up and going through this promotion stuff at work and the extra hours involved and raising Kiddo, I don't wanna get myself buried in having to do a lot of other BS that might cause my grades to drop.
There aren't meetings; no work is involved. It's just noted on any job application that you're a cut above.
BIG CONGRATS for the invite. Now you gotta go rethink your image of Da Operator - you might be carrying an oldie image of yourself from some put down events back in high school, when your priories were, to say the least, different.
There was a woman at the wedding on Saturday that looked just like that dog - skinny, way too tanned and a pearl choker. She was a bit of a female dog too.
