mrsaugie, could it be possible that my dog is related to yours ?

We have a king size bed and even though Ginger weighs 6.8 lbs and Sissy weighs 5.8 lbs. I would swear we have a Great Dane in bed with us at night!! Ginger has her own pillow at the foot of the bed and Sissy has to have at least two toys with her and sprawled on the bed between us! It is a good thing with the waterbed that it has a wooden frame or they would push me out of bed completely!! Don't you just love it though!!!

There is no way our dogs will sleep in our bed at night...they refuse to! They want to go in their crates. They will jump in bed in the morning and snuggle with Angie but never never spend the night...probably a good thing since they are both 75 pounds.

Angie went to a children's play today for one of her students..Alice In Wonderland....

seen a play lately?

Several sleeping arrangements in this house.

#1 - hubby home - so it is dh, me, 2 cats, 1 dog
#2 - dh, me, 2 cats, 1 dog, 1 dd
#3 - hubby in truck - me, dd, 2 cats, 1 dog
#4 - hubby still at work - me, dd, ds#2, 2 cats, 1 dog

My dream ~~~ ONLY ME smack dab in the middle of the bed with no cover hogs, and no pillow stealers!

Not only did my dog sleep in my bed all night, he is now sitting on my lap as I try to type.

mrsaugie 10-05-2009 10:14 AM

They are kind of a pain to get rid of since the are both about 60 lbs and the golden will not move most nights even if you kick him. He just looks at you like hey i was sleeping lay his head back down and go back to sleep right where he was and make you readjust to fit him. He doesn't rule that kingdom at all does he???

My two would love to sleep in my bed with me but I revel in having it to myself! Sometimes I let them join me on the rare occasion that I have an afternoon nap.

bargoo 10-05-2009 12:29 PM

My dog suffers from separation anxiety , he feels he must be in contact with me at all times. Sitting or lying down makes no differance to him. If he sees a lap , he must sit on it, no matter where it may be.If it happens to be in the bathroom it's OK with him. A lap is a lap, after all.

My dogs are outdoor dogs, so no sleeping with us. That would be awful because they are Chesapeake Bay retrievers... about 90 pounds each. The cats share the bed with us though.

OK. So, I think I finally figured out what I'm gonna be when I grow up. Gonna take Medical Transcription so I can work from home while I pull my youngest's head out of her butt. Then, I'm gonna take classes to become a Medical Asst. so I can get out of the house and still have the MT to make a little extra from home.

So, Whaddya think folks?

Great idea, Operator. I find the growing up part the hardest though and am still working on it.

My sister informed me "Adults carry handbags, Ruth!" when I pulled my keys and cash out of my bra. Don't know what her problem was as I drove and paid for her lunch!

I gather you dont have a huge collection of key chains! I could see your sisters point if you pulled out a massive key ring with fuzzy dice, key ring with beaded messages...the list goes on of what people put on key chains.

:lol3: I laugh because I have done that too! Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of other bra "filler" to keep my cash in there if I have to bend over, so I have to be really careful not to lose stuff!

And, Operator, I agree with Ruth that your plan sounds good! Best wishes! But, don't grow up too fast and leave the rest of us behind;)
