Hi Veronica! I can relate to your frustrations. I used to have a terrible time with bingeing on sugary stuff. There is not an easy, trick way to get off of this roller coaster- but it CAN be done. First, get all the sugar out of your house. Get only good, healthy snack stuff. (Reading a book like Sugarbusters! will help get you motivated, and give you tips and ideas on what to eat instead) Then, determine your 'start' day, and only eat healthy stuff. The best advice I got was to not worry about portions at first, just worry about staying 'legal' with no sugar or off program stuff. There were a few days I ate a whole box of triscuits, but I stuck with it. It took a few days, maybe even a week of really struggling to stay on plan, and I did have some headaches and lethargy, but once I got past the 'detox' so to speak, I felt great! I got stronger and stronger in my ability to pass sugar up. Now,several years later, I can control the sugar monster much better. I can occasionally indulge without going off the deep end. It is SO worth it to fight for it...

thanks for the reply. i cant get all of the sugar out of the house cause my mom buys so much junk food. i eat only healthy in public but then usually when im alone at home i crave junk- not that im hungry i just want it. well im going off to college in 3 months so im pretty sure my eating habits will get better cause i can control what i buy- i think id feel guilty buying junk. but in the mean time i gotta find a way to resist it.. i wanna lose 20 pounds!
i am totally in the same place... i binge eat on sugar. i too am surrounded by a lot of sugary food (my major problem is sweet/ salty granola bars) because of my family and brothers. the minute i eat something sweet i lose all control and cannot be satisfied. i enjoy healthy foods but binge eating is by far my problem. and the sugar high/drop makes you feel so horrible. i am trying to stay focused on eliminating sugar as well.
Ladies, again, let me say FIGHT the urge to eat the sugar. If you can get past the cravings, you will feel SO good...it just takes determination, and some time. I can not tell you how GOOD it feels to be free of those chains of craving sweets.
