Default Smoothies

Just thought I'd pop in here and offer a breakfast idea. I love to sleep in, and barely have time for breakfast in the morning. It's why I usually skip it. However, it's really best to eat three meals a day to prevent myself from eating a gigantic dinner. So, I've taken to making smoothies.

1 Cup of Soy Milk (I love the vanilla flavor)
4 Frozen Strawberries
A small handful of Frozen Raspberries

You can use fresh fruit of any kind if you don't like the frozen stuff. I use frozen just because it gives it a thicker consistancy and makes it yummy and icy. The entire smoothie is less than 200 calories. I've been pairing it with half a bagel and a tablespoon of peanut butter. Because I'm a vegetarian, it gives me tons much-needed protein. And, the best thing? I can eat the half bagel with PB and smoothie in the car on the way to work. I don't have to get up earlier, but I can still eat breakfast. It easily keeps me going until lunch.

Sounds yummy, I'm gonna try that. I also like it blended with yogurt!

Galengail, thanks for the recipe i want to try it. You are so right that it is very important to eat breakfast and 3 meals a day. A smoothie is a great breakfast idea. I often get bored with the same breakfast things which consist of cereal or toast. I will try it tomorrow morning. Thank You

I'll definitely have to try blending a bit of yogurt in. Sounds delicious! I'm not a big coffee person, so having something good to drink on my way to work so I can wake up is really helpful.
