Default Healthy Vegan Desserts

Hello,

I am looking for simple vegan dessert recipes. I'm not vegan, but I don't do dairy & prefer no refined sugar.

A friend gave me a wonderfully simple vegan dessert recipe that I love, but I would love a few more ideas! Also, for I like getting new ideas for potlucks.

Here's my friend's Vegan Chocolate Mousse: 2 lg. ripe avocados, 10 dates (soaked overnight & pitted), 2/3 c. raw cacao powder, nut milk (coconut, almond, etc.)
Put all in a blender. Add a little milk at a time until desired consistancy. Chill. Enjoy! You can also experiment with different ingredients. I've added a dash of nutmeg & cinnamon, yummy!

I just looked through my vegan dessert recipes and every single one has refined sugar...

I did see a recipe recently for mini vegan key lime pies. They used walnuts and dates for the crust, and there was avocado in the filling. No sugar I don't think. But I can't find the recipe and they sounded SOOOO good!

Since you said simple, there's always the good ol' frozen banana turned into banana "ice cream" in the blender trick.

Default Key Lime Tarts

Yum the key lime tarts sound so good:

Here's a Vegan Key Lime Tart from Eating Bird Food - uses agave/coconut sugar/honey.

And here's one from The Blender Girl/Choosing Raw. And one from Nutritionist in the Kitch that uses honey and stevia.

mmmmm I can't wait until I am in maintenance!!

I like veggiedesserts.co.uk - it's not vegan per se but some recipes are vegan and others can be modified (I've adapted a few of the cakes using egg substitutes like Ener-G), and they all incorporate veggies into desserts. I made the chocolate-cauliflower "ice lollies" (without the fancy pistachio/chocolate coating) and served them to a big group. Everyone ate them and then I said what they were made of, and no one could believe it.

Update: I found a great site on Pinterest that has healthy recipes using Coconut sugar not white refined sugar. I made a great peanut butter cookie that has only 5 ingredients. Since I'm allergic to peanut butter, I used Sunflower butter, eggs, coconut sugar, vanilla, and a dash of sea salt on top! Amazing cookies!
