Default Lemon Drop Melon

So anyone else try this variety of melon and love it? I just came across it the other day and thought "Sounds interesting... I'll buy a couple of those..." (I know, I know... I can never seem to buy one of anything... But that's a whole other story...)

Anyway I served it as an appetizer with some prosciutto di parma and balsamic glaze the other day for lunch... We were all just gabbing and gossiping and all of the sudden everyone just stopped talking and was like this is the most delicious melon that we had ever tasted!

It was so good that it inspired me to use it in a soup yesterday... I love chilled soups in the summer... and needless to say, it did not disappoint...

So if you get the chance, give it a try and let us know what you think...

Now if only summer wouldn't end...

What sort of taste does it have? Is the Lemon Drop the color or the taste? Sounds really good. I love a good cantaloupe.

Sorry in all my excitement I forgot to mention that... Yes the melon does have a really nice sweet lemon taste and a pretty yellow color...

Hope you guys come across it and get a chance to try it.... Enjoy!
