Greek Yogurt

So, I read a lot about this, and how people prefer it to other yogurts, but I figured it was due to the nutritional/healthier value compared to other yogurts...but I have to say I FREAKIN' LOVE IT.

I got the one with honey, and I seriously eat it like it's a pint of Ben and Jerrys ice cream. So delicious!:carrot:

Just an FYI for those that don't normally like yogurt or were skeptical in buying something "organic".

i bought the plain greek yogurt because it's lower in carbs than any other plain yogurt...i sweeten it with splenda and eat it with cherries....yummm

Chobani is my favorite (the pineapple and mango rock!) and fage comes in at a very close second. FYI if you have a Costco nearby they sell large packs of assorted chobanis pretty cheap and their price on the large sized tubs of plain fage is way better than you can get anywhere else.

i like the chobani but i only like the orginal... i dont like the ones with their fruit stuff... its too sweet. its like jelly or jam in my greek yogurt. gross

You can strain it anywhere from 12 to 48 hours, depending on how thick you want it. I haven't gone beyond 24 since that is very thick and creamy but still yogurt. I think if you keep going after that, it gets more like cream cheese.

The volume goes down a huge amount, but it's still a lot less expensive than Fage and some of the others, and tastes as good to me.

Thank you for sharing this! I think I may try this since I limit how much greek yogurt I get each week. I get them more for treats. Happily, the Price Rite by me sells Chobani and Fage. Fage is delicious, but even at Price Rite it is expensive.
