Sam's Club and the Amish Market make me so happy!
So this weekend I went on a mega-shopping trip, which included hitting the Amish markets and Sam's Club. Not only am I done with all of my Christmas shopping, but I have the best snack ever on my desk.
I love fruit and love to have it as a snack, but have a massive list of fruit and veggie allergies that keeps growing. (It's like a present that you don't like but can't take back.) Right now my list of no-no fruits includes apples, pears, nectarines, peaches, cherries (I was mad when this one came up - fresh cherries are amazing), and melon. This really doesn't leave one with a lot of choices in the winter, especially inexpensive choices, though I do love me some clementines.
But right now I'm enjoying fresh mixed berries. Sam's club had pretty huge containers of blackberries and blueberries for just about four dollars, which was awesome, and I added fresh strawberries that I got from the Amish market. Mixed berries = happiness.
I'm not sure how the Amish folks came up with strawberries that are so delicious in the middle of December. Of course, pretty much everything that they touch becomes delicious...sometimes I suspect that they sprinkle everything with crack.
Ok, not really, but how else do they make simple things so wonderful?
