Default Fiber One Bars

Has anyone tried these besides me? They are really tasty. There are two varieties that I have found locally, but I live in a VERY small place so I would imagine there are other flavors. I have tried the peanut butter and the chocolate chip

The Oats & Peanut Butter:
150 Calories
4.5 grams of Fat
0 Cholesterol
28 Grams Carbs
9 Grams Fiber
9 grams of Sugars

Oats & Chocolate Chip:
140 Calories
4 grams of Fat
29 Grams Carbs
9 Grams Fiber
10 Grams Suger

They are not the MOST nutritious, but in a pinch they make a great afternoon snack. They keep me filled between lunch and dinner. Let me know what you all think

Yup, I've only seen these two also and I live in a fairly large area. And, I've been to several stores searching for them, they get sold out quickly. They are one of my favorite snacks but all that fiber can cause unwanted side effects!

If you have a Big Lots store in your area, you might check them for these. I found them there this week for $2.00 per box. The peanut butter bar was wonderful. I haven't tried the chocolate bar yet (haven't had the calories) but my DD has and she loved it.

They are definitely a treat. It tastes like a candy bar.

I like the peanut butter ones, but they were way sweeter than normal granola-type bars so I treat them as a dessert when I'm craving something really sweet.

I love these but they don't agree with me. Not sure if it is because of the high fiber or if there is something else in them that doesn't agree with me.

Yes I have tried them. There is only the two flavors but that's cool with me. I buy a box a week. I like the high fiber in them cuz I have to keep on a high fiber diet in order to stay "regular"

I love them, but I suggested them to some friends, and they all said the bars gave them terrible gas. I guess maybe I don't have the effect because I've upped my fiber so much in the last few months that I've adjusted to it.

I get them on sale at local grocer for $2 a box so I buy like 6-8 boxes at a time. If I eat more than 1 a day, I get terrible gas. They're my sweet treat for the day. Keeps me from eating other stuff.

I used to love them until someone one here mentioned an ingredient that was in the bar that definitely should not be put in there. I think it's called shellac or something like that.

This is what I found on Shellac.
Quote:
In food, shellac is used as a coating agent, color diluent, surface finishing agent, glazing/polishing agent, and used in
88 confectionery, food supplement tablets, as well as chewing gum.
Also, yes they can cause gas if you eat them too often. My daughter and I figured this out when we both started being a tad bit gassy after eating like 2 of them in a day each!!!

They are one of my favorite cereal/energy bars (the others being Kashi & CLIF/LUNA)!! A bit on the sweeter end for me, but with 35% DV of fiber and ~150 calories each makes they're relatively guiltfree snack, or part of a breakfast.
