Hey I'm back!!

Unfortunately, I haven't exercised in about a week!!!
I came down with some horrible virus that caused me to have a SEVERE headache and a fever. I followed the doctor's orders and waited until 24 hours after my fever went away to exercise.

SO, here I am, checking in... I did HIIT 25.

After not doing it for a while, it was a lot more challenging. But it's a reminder to me that it's important I keep up with my routine.

My motivation: I have a vacation coming up very shortly. June 2 - 9 in Virginia Beach. I want to commit right now, and do the very best I can to look good for my vaca.

How is everyone? Have any planned vacations?

Hi Everyone! TGIF!

I had an insanely crazy day! I am totally worn out. You don't hear this very often from me, so you know it must have been bad. I haven't mention much about my Mom recently. Here is a short recap of my day. I haven't given you much in terms of recent history. Basically she has cancer, her anti nausea meds have not been working, she would not call the Dr and forbid me to call the doctor. This is what happened today:

I just got home. I have been running my butt off all day with my Mom. Bottom line is that she called the Dr. They wanted her to come in to check her out and possible IV fluids. I met her there. I had to use a wheel chair to get her in the Dr's office. They did blood work. She immediately needed IV fluids, IV anti nausea meds, and IV potassium. She is scheduled for a blood transfusion on Monday and her chemo treatments for next week have been cancelled. All of this because she is hard headed. Basically because of this, she just about killed herself. I spoke with her and the Dr. I explained that she had forbid me to call the office. I told them I am done with being the obedient daughter. (I have always done everything my Mom's way in order to get along with her) I am becoming the defiant daughter or whatever I have to do. I don't want it on my shoulders that I didn't do the right thing by her. The Dr. scolded her and told her that she had been doing things wrong. After a couple days, she should have called in to report her troubles. She seems to be doing better already and has even eaten some. She literally called me a PITA today. I also had to deal with her sarcasm. Oh well, so be it. The funny thing is that she wanted to hurry to get her fluids and the help today. She is wanting to get the chemo. It's not like she has given up. All of this was her decision. She is just so backward in her thinking. The Dr. asked her if she thought she was going to tough it out? And she said 'yes'. Insane! Also, I told her that I was going to take her back home because she was so sick. She said no that she would drive. I brought the nurse right over and asked her if my Mom could drive. She said absolutely not. On top of that she cannot drive this weekend or until the blood transfusion has taken place and everything is OK. She wouldn't listen to a word that I said, so I had to get the nurse to confirm it. Hopefully she will do what she is suppose to do and continue to get better. Wish me luck! Say a prayer! Did I ever mention that my Mom is a difficult person?

No workout today!

Hi Everyone!

The new meds seem to be working, for now, for my Mom. Hopefully they continue. My Mom was able to eat some and had a better day.

Teacher Thank you for the prayers. Enjoy the game.

Check-In: 5 Mile Mall Walk

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to TF but not new to HIIT. I have been doing HIIT on the treadmill for about 2 months now. However, I was getting bored and needed a change so I came across TF. I did my first workout Fire 30 this morning. The only problem was, she goes so fast I can't keep up. I don't mean physically, I mean in the sense she says the name so fast and I'm not sure what the names of the moves mean. I bought my DVDs second hand so only 4 of them have a functioning new to class option.

If I couldn't keep up because of the names, I generally just repeated the first 2-3 moves of the cycle over and over again. Do you think this is a reasonable substitute? I don't want this to get in the way of my results.

Also, do you all do the stretch 10 at the end or do you just end with your own stretch? Do you think doing my own stretches would hinder my results?

Overall I enjoyed the workout despite my confusion. I think physically it's a good level for me. I hope this helps me build some muscle!

ap90 Hi and welcome to the check-in! I do my own stretches. I don't think it would hinder you progress to do your own stretches. Just make sure you do stretch, though.
