Oh wow, Kali, I love your stats!! You're rocking this!

Thanks! Yea, it's pretty exciting. I've been in the losing process for 2 years! So it didn't come off quickly, but I wasn't as motivated to work out as I have been in the last few months. Now it's time to tone because the majority of fat is almost gone (thank God). If this video works, I might move on to P90X...but I'm afraid it might kill me.

Good luck with the DVD! Since it's your first time (ever) I just want to say, don't get discouraged. It IS hard at first but it does get easier after the first few days. I'm only at Day 7 but I do feel a difference in my body (my legs feel so much stronger!). Another tip (not that you asked lol), do some before pictures to compare after you've finished the series. Talk about REAL motivation! Keep me posted :)

Thanks Kali! I did take pics right before I started, actually... back, front, side. Really wanting to see some changes in 30 days. :P

I really liked the video, I feel all virtuous now as I sit on the couch and surf the web. ;) I've always known that I need to do daily pushups/crunches/etc, but I felt so stupid doing them by myself, it never lasted more than a day. Somehow doing it along with the video makes it so much easier.

According to my armband, that burned 140 calories more than if I'd just sat on the couch for those 20-30 minutes, so I should still make sure I get some kind of cardio today... the lawn needs some attention, that'll probably do it.

29 days to go! :D

Chary: you know, I've been thinking about adding in some cardio, but I'm just so tired with this as it is. I think I'm going to do the 30 days and then next month I'll start adding in some running 3 x week. Running is my true nemesis but I'm determined to conquer that because I know it's good for me and so many people I know love running (though, I can't see how). I want to be one of those people that actually likes going for a run!!! I'm praying that this video will boost my lung capacity a bit so that I can run more than 3 minutes without getting too winded.

We'll see hehehe...

Can't wait to report back with you in 29 days :D

I know, I hate running too. I've gotten to the point with lots of c25k stuff over the years where I can shuffle jog my way through a couple of miles (or at least I could, before I stopped doing even that for the last 6 months). But I never enjoy it, and always look for excuses not to do it. :\ Last week I got a pair of these crazy-looking "barefoot" shoes, basically like gloves for your feet, so I can run "barefoot" in the park across the street. I really enjoy it, it feels like being a kid again and just running for the **** of it. :) There's a strip of grass with a few little hills in it that's about a sixth of a mile long, I'm trying to get to the point where I can go back and forth on it 3 times to hit a mile.

In my daydreams, I enjoy running. lolol

Question about 30DS (for everyone) - What was, or IS, the hardest part of Level 1 for you?

For me it's circuit 2, the lunges/chest pull combo. And the boxing when I'm still recovering from butt kicks.

luciddepths 05-11-2010 06:34 PM

I can't wait to do this when i get home.. the ones i had trouble with were the pushups ( i hurt my chest/inner arms) so the side lunge with the arm raise i have to do them with out weights. But i can do virtually every one except the push up.. WOOHOO!!! I like how she is in the video too, It doesnt feel as "fake" or sound stupid.

luciddepths 05-11-2010 07:25 PM

Has anyone done this for more than one month?

Niecey 05-11-2010 11:17 PM

L2 Day 9 of the Slimdown challenge completed.

luciddepths - I've only done it one month but I started over doing the 30 Day Slimdown which is much harder than the 30 Day Shred.

Wow, L1D2 was tough!! Day 1 wasn't too horrible (though I was sweating up a storm), but my arms were really weak doing the same exercises today.

So, when you're doing the windmill warmup at the beginning, does anyone else's shoulder/neck bones make weird noises as your arms swing? It doesn't hurt, but it kind of freaks me out. :P

I think this is normal. Mine do that from time to time. Not so much anymore, but occasionally.

I missed Day 8 yesterday (boo!) because I had a meeting that ran until 8PM and I didn't get home until past 9PM...darn NYC traffic! Thought about doing it anyway but I was just too tired. So, Day 8 today. Did catch some of Biggest Loser last night, but I've been sort of 'meh' about this season. I used to never miss a show and now I really don't care.

I've got another day of three today, then I'm taking a break tomorrow. I'm totally bushed. I've been doing quite a bit of extra exercise on top of this recently, and started doing the Women's Health Big Book of Exercises' Bikini-Ready Workout (with some modifications, as I have next to no equipment) on Monday. Did my second session today during lunch and I'll do my 30DS tonight, plus about 20mins of exercise biking too. All because I ate some biscuits, shame on me. When it boils down to it, I'd rather spend 20mins on the bike than not eat a biscuit if I want one. I don't know if that's sane or crazy anymore! But I haven't had a day off exercise since last Monday, so tomorrow it's time to stop!

Today was L2D1 and I just got my *** kicked! I finish my workout for the day w/30DS, so I went to the gym and did caridio for 60 mins, then 55 minutes of weight training, then I came home and kicked it w/Jillian for 20 minutes.

I have a lot of work to do before I move out of Level 2. I know that today was the first day but man, she puts a hurting on you. I was sweating on places on my body that I didn't even know existed. I do feel great though.

Belease 05-12-2010 05:06 PM

Wow, you did two sessions with Jillian and a couple of hours at the gym? You must be bushed!

Only 1 session w/Jillian, Level 2 Day 1. But yeah I'm totally bushed. I just got back from playing some basketball too.

HOLY MOLY HOPEFUL8!!!! You're gonna be sore tomorrow!

I did L2D5 today and it's still SOO HARD!! Atleast I've started to do a "little" pushup during the walking pushups in Circuit 1...I was just going down to a plank like Anita, but can now go down JUST A LITTLE! haha AND yes, I am too sweating in places I didn't know could sweat!!! haha

I'm flying home this weekend (WV) but I'm taking the WO with me...planning to do it Friday & Saturday...then maybe Sunday when I get back to TN.

If L2 doesn't get any easier, should I keep doing it? Or move on to L3 after L2D10???
