Default Leaving for vacation. . .

Leaving after work today to head "home" to Missouri for a week. I'm visiting family & friends & attending not one but two weddings. I know my eating & exercise will not be stellar, and my goal is to not let myself get stressed out about it. I refuse to spend the entire week feeling guilty that I haven't run, or that I ate pizza and drank beer, rather than enjoying my time with people I love and hardly ever get to see! I will not weigh myself, I will not guilt myself, I will not stress myself out trying to guesstimate values for restaurant food or my mom's home cooking so that I can plug it into Fitday and then feel bad about my "failures". This week, I will simply do my best to eat "intuitively" and to keep moving, within the context of my trip.

SO THERE!

That's a great attitude to have. It's taken a while for me to learn that sometimes life gets in the way of your workout/eating routine and that's ok. I can finally accept that if I gain back a little weight, it will come back off. I keep in mind the words of Mike Ditka: "Success is never permanent and failure is never final." Enjoy your trip!

Thanks, everybody! I had a great trip, saw a ton of family and friends, and yes, ate too much and exercised too little. But amazingly enough - I did a juice detox yesterday (still doing it today) and weighed in this morning at 146.2 - only a pound up from when I left! I'm not sure how that happened, as I KNOW I was more than a pound bad - but hey, I'll take it!
