Not sure what's up with that! I was very carb heavy this weekend. This week starts my cycle back to 900 calories though. Gonna see how this works.

Speaking of big calories for one thing, I had ONE piece of fried chicken, among other things, yesterday, and it was 399 calories for one drumstick! It was so yummy, though. I made the breading with coconut flour, so the carbs would be low low low, and it gave it a slight crunchy sweetness. That one piece, with a sauteed zucchini and squash, made a good meal.

What do you use to find out your calories, Crunchy? Some of them seem to run a little high. I always take the lowest (though reasonably accurate) reading if I use more than one source. :D

Here for ya and hear ya! I gained over five pounds over the last few weeks, due to a vacation. So hard to keep track and follow rules when visiting family and friends!

I personally find that higher glycemic carb calories (not including non-starchy veggies) are "stickier" than more natural foodstuffs. In other words, they stay around longer and aren't as easily processed by the digestive system. Don't know if it works that way for everyone, but, just looking at your history, this is kind of an unusual sequence for you.

Yay, you! I still keep convincing myself every day that I don't have time to exercise. BUT...and this is a big BUT...I have put my laptop up on a pedestal of sorts (o. k., it's a Black and Decker "EdgeHog" box, but it's the right size :D) and I stand for several hours a day now! And being up makes me walk around more, and I'm getting TONS more done. Nice and easy! :love:

So we have a new scale! One that I think is correct. Unfortunately, I learned that the scale that I was using was probably off by about 3-4 lbs, so my new weigh goes something like this:

9/7- 163.5
9/9- 161.5
9/11- 158.6

More weight than I thought, but at least I don't have to look at the numbers and wonder how accurate they are

Hunger- I do use the MyFitnessPal app for most calorie items but I usually self-verify for restaurants and and similar by checking the websites. I also give myself a slight margin by allowing myself to go slightly over my calorie budget, since I know that I overestimate the calories. But yes, the pumpkin muffin at Dunkin'- given the size and the toppings- is 550

Hi. I am new to this thread. I have been up and down my whole life. Sometimes in the past quite high. Right now I need to lose 6 lbs. but if I do not find a way to stop the upward trend, it will be a lot more. Plus, cold weather is almost here. And my jeans do not fit anymore.

So here I am. 6 lbs to lose. Saying hello.
