July Weigh-In Thread

I figured someone had to get this started!

7/1 - 141.2

Unfortunately I'm going to have to make my July goal the same as my June goal, because that didn't go as planned. So I'd like to be UNDER 138 by the end of July.

Looking forward to another fun month with all of you! :carrot:

JenFZ09 07-01-2015 08:02 PM

Thanks for starting the thread, and good luck this month!

We are away and I don't have a scale, so who knows until July 5. :)
We are at a bluegrass festival in Morganton, NC. Yay!

Goal- Anything under 120. Maintain under 120 lbs. On 6/30, 118 lbs on lower scale which is 1 lb lower than my other scale

7/2 119.5 lbs on the scale at Planet Fitness with my clothes on, shoes off. The food in NC is really good. I've been eating stuff I never do, bread and fried potato wedges two days in a row.
7/3 121 lbs ?? Not morning, hope that's why, scale at Planet Fitness
7/4 who knows?!?
7/5 118.4 lbs on my lower scale

kristip 07-01-2015 10:03 PM

Start: 120.6. Goal: 115

7/1: 120.6

It's increasingly harder to lose fast at this point, so I'm setting a smaller goal and maybe I'll blow by it. Lol.

Alexistrophic 07-01-2015 10:45 PM

Thanks for starting the thread, TBCourt!
Good luck Kristi and Jen!!!

After Action review on June.
June 2015

Goal for next weigh-in: 105.4

7/3 - 107.4

Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th! There are no Independence Day smilies, so I thought this might be appropos - it looks kinda like fireworks: ;) :dust:

Slow and steady wins the race, right?

EmmaD 07-02-2015 04:19 PM

Hi all! I am back after some transgressions :o

I am hoping that my start weight will drop quickly down a few pounds in the next few days, otherwise it means I gained 4 pounds in 5 days = ~2800 calories per day OVER maintenance?? I don't think I was that bad!!

SW 145.6
GW: 139.8

Good luck to all the U.S. folks here with all the Independence Day temptations! Ugh all the stores have red, white and blue cakes, cookies, etc etc. Looks horrible. I will stick to blueberries, strawberries and some whipped cream, yum

It's a Fourth of July weekend miracle! I was completely dejected, because the Weight Watchers scale showed 105.8, and the beautiful-but-treacherous Taylor scale showed 105.6.

Then I remembered the Health-O-Meter scale, and, lo and behold, it read 105.4! More like Happy-O-Meter! So I didn't have to exercise for an hour before breakfast, thank God. :carrot: :D

I have been weighing only intermittently as I am depressed about my forced no-exercise regime. Exercise is my favorite form of stress relief, and not being able to exercise only piles on the stress. So ~sigh~ I am eating + drinking too much instead. Thus:

7/6: 134.2

HungerWerks 07-07-2015 09:05 AM

Alexis - thank you, and congrats on your continuing downward spiral! ;)

Jen - looks like you're enjoying yourself AND losing weight - a winning combination! :carrot:

HW, because my back is involved, any exercise has felt like a risk. Yesterday I did go for a brisk walk (~4.5 miles) and did some planks and back-strengthening exercises. I can feel a little tightening in my back but it doesn't hurt. I'm planning on walking again today, probably a slower pace.

Oh, gosh, please be careful. I guess I was thinking that there are all kinds of exercises for people in various situations, things that are designed especially to protect them from harm. If it's your back, though, that seems like it would have to do with a lot of body systems.

Not to be nosy, but do you like yoga? I have a DVD that has special exercises for people with back issues. It's by a lady named Peggy Cappy. Maybe something like that could also help with stress relief. :yoga:

HW, I'm not much for yoga. I usually spend most of the session thinking about all the other things I could/should be doing. I'm not very zen. ;) My back seems to be about 99% better. Yesterday I did a bunch of housework and I could feel the tender spot now and then -- while lifting a laundry basket for example -- but it did not get worse. I will keep up the walking for another week or so, and if it resolves completely I may go back to barre or try a little run/walk combo.

Honestly I am surprised the gain isn't more given the huge amounts of nutritionally void foods I have been consuming... nipping this trend in the bud.

And I need to exercise more.

Yes, that is absolutely true! But sadly I gained a total of 5 - 6 pounds since the end of June (it goes up and down, so yesterday's weight was about 3 pounds up). It was just a shame that I got so off track when away from home.

Just for laughs, here is how my last few weeks have gone (the gains correspond exactly to when I was away from home):

EmmaD, way to get back on track. I bet you'll continue to drop this week as the post-binge bloat goes away.

Alexis, nice, consistent downward trend!

HW, I want to thank you for all of your suggestions and support. Looking over the posts I notice I've been kind of an Eeyore ("I can't do this, I don't like that..."). The past few months of illness/injury have me a bit depressed and frustrated and that does not make one "open to the possibilities" to say the least. But I really appreciate you sticking with me and coming up with ideas. I am going to give yoga a try at a different studio and see if I like it any better. :)

Thank you to all my cheerleaders on this thread -- you help keep me going! :cheer2::cheer3:

Thanks! Yes, I am warned... now how to get armed. That is my challenge.
It's like I have another brain that kicks into gear around things that my sane brain knows are unhealthy and nutritionally worthless.

Thanks! I just have to stay on track which is proving harder and harder to do for some reason.
I was thinking maybe you would like power yoga or bikram yoga? Something to try at least. I haven't tried bikram, but in my experience, power yoga moves quickly and is more of an aerobic workout than a slow meditative flow.
