When I couldn't roll over in the middle of the night without it being an effort and waking myself up. That is when I knew I had to do something.

My motivation kicked in when I got my 20th High School class reunion invitation.

For me, both pictures and feeling pure lazy- my resting heartrate was going up and I was just feeling nasty.

Mine was a photo. It's the photo I use as my "before" now. I was aware I'd put on weight at the time but didn't know how bad it was.

And then my fitness journey started 6 months later after I'd lost ~12 lbs because I put on a costume for an event and felt awkward and uncomfortable in it... I just realized I wanted to be able to rock that damn costume, and that meant not just losing 15-20 lbs but getting into shape too.

Vanity. When I moved from my small north woods town to a big college campus city, I noticed how fit and skinny all of the other girls on campus were. I felt envious and started dieting and exercising to fit in.

Now, I stay healthy for me. Because I love being active. I love weight lifting and biking and walking!

Feeling horrible in my own skin and having my inner thighs rub together was becoming an issue.

I've been overweight my entire life, but just kind of "dealt" with it and gave myself the excuse that I was always like that, and always will be. My cousin, who was also always overweight, started a weight loss programme and she looked amazing! I ended up doing the same as her, and got down to a normal BMI. Over the years though my weight has gone up and down.

I have a 1 year old baby, and I am turning 30 soon, so it's kind of my motivation to be in the best shape of my life, and to stay healthy so I can run around and chase her and have energy. I've always set my goal at 145, but have never reached it. I just want to prove to myself that I can attain it, I just need to stay focused!
