I hear what you are saying. Our health and fitness level are really more important than a number. The only way I seem to be able to lose weight is cutting to 300-800 calories and thats only if I'm sick. I try to stay at 1300. If I eat 1600 and run four miles, I will still gain. It's a weird thing!
What calorie amount are you at now?
I have found that 40% protein/40% carb/20% fat also helps or even lower carb, but I'm normally at 50% carb. The 10% carb is Atkins. I have no clue how people do that.
