Default Any featherweights taller than 5'5 with medium frames?

Still far from my goal of under 120lbs.... But I notice that most of you ladies between 125 and 110 are shorter than 5'5. I'm wondering if my goals are unrealistic for my height of 5'6 and medium frame ( without taking drastic measures).

Just wanted to get some feedback from some of the taller ladies in this category.

May be too thin...maybe not? Depends upon your bf%. Some woman (albeit thin) have very high bf%, other woman carry more muscle...and consequently weigh more. BTW, I'm 154 lbs and wear a size 6 (athletic build)

I would look completely emaciated at even 125. I have a pretty lean runner's build and am blessed with being well-proportioned, so that's just me. You might look fine, though! It's such an individual thing, as joyful pointed out.

I'm 5'7 and currently in a size 8 that is starting to get a little big. So I'm drifting to size 6. I don't think I will be able to go lower than that. I don't think my hips will allow it. I would consider myself a medium frame. I weighed this morning at 150.2lbs. I have been focusing on toning and building muscle so I can get rid of body fat (belly is still too jiggly). I know that 120lbs for me would be waaaay to low. I don't even know if it would be possible to weigh that with the muscle I am wanting. But every body is different and it's hard to say. I work in the medical field and a physician told me that to determine your average weight you would have 100 lbs for 5 feet then add 5lbs for every additional inch. So if you are 5'6: your ideal weight would be 130.

I'm 5'8 / 5'9 (174cm) and weigh around 150lbs. I originally had my goal at 140lbs, that being a random number I plucked from the air because I thought it might be good to weigh 10st (i'm British).

I have decided to ditch the scales, partly because 140lbs is just not realistic for me but remains 'the goal' in my head. I only have a little bit of spare tyre fat left and the rest is muscle from running / pilates / cycling. To weigh 140lbs, I'd have to stop doing exercise, get rid of muscle and starve myself. When I read that people my height are shooting for 120lbs, I do occasionally think 'wow I must be a heffer'.

I'm not sure what my natural weight is, I suspect it might actually be the weight I am now. I'm going to carry on eating reasonably healthily when I'm hungry and doing all the sport I enjoy and see where it gets me in a few months and re-evalauate.

I wonder how people formulate goals in the first place? I suspect mostly they pluck a number from thin air, like I did.

I'm going to ditch my scales too. I put them in my attic for a "gee my pants feel really loose" kind of day, when I might check in. My body is never going to be 120 again. Even 125 might be a little too low. And I have a relatively small frame with absolutely NO chest. The sands have shifted and my muscle mass is completely different from even 3 or 4 years ago. So I can't continue to compare to "well, when I was 34" or "back in college..." it's just not realistic.

You will probably know when you're getting too low. It's amazing how the less weight you have to lose, the more dramatic a difference each pound makes in your appearance and how your clothes fit. I agree with aerogora's math - the 5 pounds per inch thing seems to be pretty accurate. I know that when my weight got to low, I felt tired and kind of lousy. What good are the "skinny jeans" if you're too fatigued to wear them out dancing, right?

I like the 5lbs per inch over 5' idea. I think that's a good estimate for what you 'should' weigh. Give or take 5 lbs or so.
I got down to 135 last year, which is what I weighed through my college years and it was way hard for me to maintain.
I think 140 is do-able and good enough for me. I've regained most of what I lost a year ago though, so I'm starting over. I suck at maintenance.

I am 165 cm (5’5) and I have my photos of me at 118 lb, 125 lb and 140 lb.

Now I am trying to get to 125 lb and will not go lower then that as I look too skinny, like 15 years old, which I personally don’t like.

When I was 140 lb it was too much roundness going on my face and around belly, so I think 125lb is slender, but not skinny for our height and completion.

I am 5'6" and I have to say, at 118, I looked *good*!! But I am small-framed and have a high % of body fat, so the lower weights suit me well. I have been as low as 109 (not intentionally) and I still looked good, had a butt, etc.

That being said, once I turned 30, things began to change and I gained weight up to the 150s. I have gotten back "down" to the mid-130s and haven't yet been able to go any lower.

The guideline mentioned puts my (our) ideal weight at 130. It often includes +/- 10 lbs for large/small frame, which would be 120 for me. So I figure something between those two numbers will be perfect for me. My goal is currently 129.

For me, 118 is probably impossible in any healthy and/or sustainable way.

I am 5'6" and I feel best at around 135-140. When I was 120 I was starving myself and quite unhappy. I'm a medium frame, too. I know everyone is different but that is my opinion.

I'm 5'7" and weigh in around 131-132. I got down to 120 in college and loved it. I felt and looked amazing. For some reason I can't get back down as fast. I eat and work out the same I did but just doesn't seem to be working. I would love to get to at least 125 and see. I have some pants that have been taunting me from my closet for over 3 years now that I refuse to get rid of because I spent too much $$ on them.

I have a medium frame and still have areas of visible fat on me so I know I have room to lose. It is just taking so long this time

I'm 5'6 1/2" and 138 pounds this morning. I am wearing mostly 8s, a six and a really baggy pair of 9/10s in jeans right now. I'd like to think that at 135 I'll be comfy in my 8s and smoking in 6s. From there I'd like to see if I can get to 129 just to say I did and maintain around 130 but the 130s have been fighting me tooth and nail so we'll see. I would say I have a medium frame 34FF-29-37 with lots on top that won't go away. If I could have any weight I wanted it would be 125-130.

I haven't seen the 120s since the summer before high school when I grew 2" and C cups. If you are 5'6" the BMI chart lists 115 as the borderline for underweight and I would say that maintaining below 120 would be for someone who has a "small" frame. It is always on us to say "I look good, I feel good and the number is just a number." So I'm not going to say "don't do it that's too thin" because that is different for each of us, and you are the only one who can decide that. But I am going to say that I would have to nearly starve myself and work really hard to get under 120, I would have really pronounced hip bones and ribs (you can already see them a bit if I stretch my arms above my head ) and I probably still wouldn't get the tiny waist I want. So If you really are a medium frame then you might want to re-evaluate at 130.

I'm 6' tall and currently weigh 166 lbs. I have been down to around 157 and I don't think I would go any lower than that. My pelvic bones started to stick out and I didn't want to lose any more of my boobs! I'm tryin to get down to around 160 and then maintain....

I'm 5'7" and right now I weigh 147. My goal is 135, although when I reach goal I might try to go a little lower, if I can.

At 147 I still have plenty of fat to spare! I have pants ranging from size 12-8. I definitely still have muffin top and seriously graspable flab on my stomach and butt. I think I'll look way better at 135 but I can guarantee you that nobody is going to be giving me concerned looks and wondering if I'm ill at that weight.

I will confess that I'm not toned at all right now. I think that if I were more toned I might be singing a different tune.

I'm 5'6, with a medium frame. I got down to 138 lbs and that's about a far as I'll go. My body naturally stopped there. This was while I was training hardcore, eating right. I was in a size 4-6 depending on the clothes. But like others have mentioned, it's all so personal and depends on your body. I feel like my body decided 138 was it and as long I as just kept up my activity and was semi-conscious of what I ate it stayed there day in and day out.

I went back up because of an injury that changed my level activity drastically and I didn't compensate my eating habits for it. Ha.
