5 pounds in 2 weeks is pretty darn good! I would love to be 5 pounds less. If this plan helps me break through to the 130's, I may need to go kiss Amy and her family myself!!!!! I love the meal plans! I think I like the most that I dont have to put much thought into this. I am going to keep on this as long as its working!
Definitely let me know how things go while not being on the plan. I definitely am interested to find out what your next strategy is to see under 125!! Great job with the plan! Thanks again for posting!
I’m going to start the Amy’s Kitchen Vegan meal plan tomorrow. I’ve gained about 5 pounds in the last 7 days, and I need to get back to the weight I was 7 days ago, lol. I have enough money to buy just the food that’s on the meal plan. Amy’s meals have really helped me in the past, so I’m hoping this works. I also plan on exercising 1-2 hours a day 6-7x a week. My weight was 106.8lb today; it will probably be higher in the morning. I hope to be 102-104lb two weeks from now.
I might update my stats daily on this thread, just to keep myself accountable.
Krazy, I'm sure you're responsible and not at risk for ED-spectrum problems, but I noticed and worried for a moment that your goal weight BMI is quite underweight (~17). You might have found it difficult to stay at that level because it's unnatural for your body. Maybe the best idea is to attempt maintenance around 105-110, and work on toning? Even at 107, you're only at 17.8, well under the healthy range for BMI (18.5).
Hi lackadaisy, I was about 95 pounds throughout high school. I’m 19 now, so not in high school anymore, lol. I guess I just want to go back to the tiny thing I was then. I probably will end up maintaining 102-106. I’m just coming off a really horrible binge week, and I would like to lose some of the weight I gained.
Krazy-- I totally get it, I'm about 2 years older than you and I was tiny in HS too. Just realize that it's normal and good to gain a little weight around age 19-20. Purely for health reasons -- bone density, normal menses, etc -- if your body wants to be around a BMI of 18-19, there's no need to fight it. I think it's awesome that you lost so much weight, but you might be setting yourself up for an unhealthy struggle in the future if you pick too low a maintenance weight.
I don't want to be preachy, so that's all I'll say. But you probably don't need to stress out about your binge last week. Enjoy the Amy's, though; it's certainly delicious.

Thanks for reporting on this diet! After gaining some weight over the last year or so, I'm just getting started trying to lose it. I'm a vegan and I love Amy's foods, so this seems like a great way to kickstart things! I'll go shopping this weekend and start it on Monday.
I'm so excited so many folks are trying this! I feel like a trendsetter.
I'm still off plan until Sunday. I've decided to do the vegetarian version starting then, though I may only do a week of it instead of two. I'm still maintaining my new weight loss but since I'm only 10 pounds from my goal weight (and since this was such a quick and easy way to see some scale movement), I want to try to reach it soon.

I would have to strongly agree. I was also 95lbs throughout high school and started changing at 19-20. Realistically, you aren't going to be 95lbs during the majority of your adult life, it's best to not fight your body's natural transition, this is really how a lot of girls set themselves up on an ED path.

Great! I will definitely be here. Tomorrow is Day 7 for me.. Can't believe 1 week went by already.
I may try the vegan version after this round on the vegetarian version. I can say that this plan is helping realize there are a lot more yummy options then just eating straight vegetables.
After transitioning (not purposely) to a vegetarian lifestyle, I finally just decided not to fight it any longer. I feel great eating this way, so why force myself to eat meat if I really dont want it??? Today I picked up a book on transitioning to vegetarian lifestyle. I know its a simple as not eating meat, but the book addresses getting all the right vitamins/minerals and a host of other things (I just skimmed through it). Basically, I just want to feel confident that what I am doing is healthy and good for me. So this will give me a solid foundation for embracing my new lifestyle.
Then I got a GREAT deal (5.99) on a recipe book. For some reason I have to see PICTURES in my recipe book.. LOL! ...and this one does..
Anyway... I got a little off track. Check back in when you get your food items. I will be interested to see your progress as well.

Dedikayted: I'm glad you're doing so well on a veggie diet!! I was vegan & vegetarian for a year, but transitioned off it in the fall -- which is, unfortunately, partly why I gained weight. I'm hoping to start transitioning back soon. A (low-carb) vegan diet is absolutely excellent in terms of staying healthy -- because so many vegetables are so filling, nutritious, and low in calories.
What book did you find helpful? It would be good to know what kinds of vitamins I should be taking in order to make sure vegetarianism sticks this time when I go back to it.

I believe the book is called...
The New Becoming Vegetarian: The Essential Guide To A Healthy Vegetarian Diet
I will check when I get home. Looks like a lot of good info in it.
What made you stop doing it? Did you miss eating meat?

It was totally emotional eating -- it was a Saturday; I'd just broken up with a guy two hours before at breakfast; I felt unsettled/self-doubting and the dining hall had chicken tempura. I think I ate a whole 12 oz of the delicious, batter-fried stuff. Haha. And once I'd been eating meat for a week or so, it was hard to go back.
This was in November; and yes, I did gain (about 4 lbs or so) between then and January. Vegetarianism works. It's not actually because meat is unhealthy, but because it's often covered (like that tempura) in all kinds of breading, fried grease, sugar glazes, etc.
